Their greatest strength and their greatest bane has always been their homeland. What fuels there awesome magic is the same soil that weakens them. The magics of the continent have always revolved around the elements, but there are truly seven elements in total... The elements of Fire, Earth, Wind and Water are commonplace in the southern region of Farshia, yet only the element of the Soul is found in Halveta and roughly in Gantor in the dreadful rages. That leaves two elements unaccounted for... and they will stay that way for no living soul on Farshia is even remotely capable of commanding the forces of Light and Darkness let alone pass on the knowledge to others...

Though, there are lesser known elements that are quite powerful indeed... yet the casualties of some have stopped a few of these practices... The elements of Time, Spirit Likeness, Master, and Fury...

/Prime/

Wind

Water

Fire

Earth

Soul

/Lesser/

Time

Likeness

Master

Fury

/Forbidden/

Light

Dark

Each of these elements proscribes a trail one might take... but the paths of each quite often diverge...

Generally Halvetians generalize the use of an element down to their everyday practises.
Some follow a path focusing on Enhancement and use their element to strengthen themselves in some way. Others may unbalance the existing elements with the direct path of Destruction in order to gain the advantage over life or to undo those effects and others with the path Restoration. These are but three generalized paths, the combinations for each, or even the creation of new paths is always possible.

Spells among the paths are prefaced by what they do.

Here is a Breakdown:

Kiru = to behead, to murder, kill

Zoukyou = augment, reinforce, increase

Shuuzen = repair, mending

Also, in addition, there may be additional wording for added effects

Ryuu = style (suf) of, method of, manner of

Jubaku = curse, spell

I will go into detail on these two later.

Those elements of Time, Likeness, Master, Light and Dark are ill-practised among the nation as a whole, though there are a few capable of at least minimal levels of these... it is said Katsuro himself seeks out higher knowledge of the element of Light... Lest past issues be visited upon the natives of Halveta...

And to heal old wounds...

Foci

There are many common foci used in Halvetian magic, most simply refer to meditation techniques, so that they may connect with the root of their magic. One form of meditation is the kuji-in art, a form found commonly among the monks (and also among the shadowy of Halveta's people).

Predominantly Halvetian magic is incorporated into the martial arts, as a means of expression as well as a deadly combination. Through various stances and manuevers, even the mountains themselves can be torn asunder.
