What did people think of this movie? Was it just me or did this movie not give Final Fantasy justice? It didn't seem to me like it had much to do with Final Fantasy.

well, see, it is partially lacking because of the fact that a Final Fantasy needs more than a movie-length to really BE a Final Fantasy simply because a short period can't put in the classic storyline-strong qualities that FF is known for... I'm sure if they could make the movie about 20 hours long, then yeah, It'd be great... I think it was decent
Now FFVII:AC became a success because the elements that needed to really be explained (character qualities) is pretty much already explained in FFVII, so they could just move to the story and not have much to distract from the main plot (but don't take me too seriously on that last bit, as I still haven't seen AC)
at least they didn't forget the Cid in SW

o_O i don't think SW has anything to do with FF... but, i've only flayed four games... It was just... a sci-fi movie, with awesome computer animation.
did anyone watch the Thriller music video in the bous features?

There was a thriller music video on the Bonus Features? Really now? as in the Micheal Jackson thriller or a different one?

I watched it once. The character I liked the best died so I saw no reason to watch it again. Plus my new copy skiped...
The graphics were amazing though.

Oh, yeah. I skinned a game. xd sorry.
Michael jackson Thriller. There's no words, though. crying it would've been better with words, but the main characters and two pre-death phantoms are dancing to it.
It's the same everywhere. the favorite character dies. ((Unless said charater's name is Sir Lancelot.))

It's really bad with my friend. She'll like a character, (not like that... just think he's cool) and in the next scene he'll die. It must be one of those movie cliche's, y'know, the one;s in which the black guy dies first or the woman does something stupid. ((I especially hate the last one. We're smarter than those buff heads! Stupid producers! *fumes*))

It's worse when they do it in a book. I was reading this one series and after about 4-5 books they killed off the main character and replaced him with his son.... scream

It might have done better if they had left Final Fantasy off of the title... that way the expectations wouldn't have been high.
