as a rule, sequels are never as good as the original. except some cases like Star Wars and the Godfather, which don't really count.
soo... what do you all think of Disney Sequels? Are any of them any good? Should they ever even be made at all? Thoughts?

honestly, the vast majority of Disney sequels I've been too afraid to watch. I'm afraid the dumb plots will ruin the first movie for me. the only two Disney-made sequels I've really, really enjoyed were The Little Mermaid II and the Lion King II.
I think the only reason I liked the Little Mermaid II was because I loved the first one so much. even though it had a mediocre plot, I always sort of felt for Melody cause she was younger and she wanted to be a mermaid as much as I did when I was little.
But I believe that the Lion King II is just genuinely a good movie, even standing on it's own. it has beautiful music, a Romeo and Juliet feel that everyone loves, and the animation is really good for a sequel. I like how it has a good villain too. most sequels have horrible, awful, terrible bad guys. plus, I just love Andy d**k. heart

I've tried, oh god how I've tried, to like the sequels....but the only ones I can say honestly I like are Return to Neverland, and Cinderella II.
I think that it's too predictable with all the sequels that are just the daughter of the main character doing the same thing the main character did, sometime backwards. *cough cough Melody cough*

It's been out for about a year. I think Cinderella is sweet, and interesting because it's all about her adjusting to being a Princess instead of a housemaid.
I'm looking forward to watching Bambi II, but my friend has it, and everytime we go to watch it we get distracted. mrgreen

hmm I'll have to go see Cinderella II. do they give Prince Charming any kind of personality? have you noticed that? the women are wonderful, but the men are usually cookie-cutter princes. it sort of irritates me. sweatdrop

Yeah, for the longest time Phillip was my favorite just because he had the most personality.

I was thinking about the original Princes. Eric is awesome. At that point they regularly issued some sort of personality to most characters.

yeah, I hate how in the early movies the Princes don't even have names. Then again, Snow White didn't have a real name either. I rather like the newer males much, much more. like the Beast. biggrin so much angst!

And everyone has to just refer to Snow White's prince as The Handsome Prince, even though think he's wearing lipstick sometimes, and other princes are much handsomer later on.
I heart Beast. My sister made me read this book Beauty and it's amazing!

I liked some of the Disney sequels. My favorites have been Lion King 2, Little Mermaid 2, and Pocahontas 2. I think I liked them because I loved the originals. I didn't care for the Aladdin sequels or Tarzan 2. Mulan 2 was pretty good.

I thought Mulan 2 was pretty good for a sequel [meaning, it sucked, but not a bad as some of the others]. And that's pretty much the only sequel I've seen. I'm kind of afraid to watch most of them xP But now it looks like I'll have to go rent The Lion King 2 since you guys enjoyed it so much. I saw that once many many years ago and hardly remember it.
