I like it! It has some realistic parts that portrays the real world's "witches" semi-accurately, but also mixes in the fantasy that people want to see.

cutester I liked it but I think they went overboard in some parts. Ugh, watched it twice, once when I started in Paganism and once recently, and I simply can't watch it again. My opinion, BAD movie. Nothing at all realistic about it... But that's just my take...

I thought that some of the criticism leveled at it from the Neopagan community was a tad exaggerated. Despite the 'innacuracies' of the film, if one takes it for what it is (ie, hollywood-ized Witchcraft which means flight and fireballs), it isn't that bad. It has some decent moral lessons in it (ie, if you're in the Craft for a power trip, expect it to bite you in the a**).

I actually have come to hate it. All a movie like that does is reinforce the stereotype of people screwing aroun and in highschool, it had a whole OMG! MAGIC! OMG! type feel for me.

FollowerofVenus I actually have come to hate it. All a movie like that does is reinforce the stereotype of people screwing aroun and in highschool, it had a whole OMG! MAGIC! OMG! type feel for me. That's what I think, it's sortof just showing a bunch of silly teenagers that are using Withcraft, a very serious thing, for completely superficial reasons, which further stereotypes the Pagan community.. that the only reason teenagers are interested in Wicca is for love spells, etc. I'm not Wiccan, and I did come to be interested in Paganism when I was very young (even younger than a teenager) but my reasons were not what most people assume, I truly saw it as the right thing for me, since I had forever respected and cherished nature, animals, I was interested in Greek mythology and mythical creatures as a small child. I wasn't sitting there going "Maybe I'll do a love spell to make the guy I like have a crush on me!" which is what that movie makes me think.

Just to poke some challenges here, what exactly is classified as a 'superficial reason?' Somehow I wonder if the individuals partaking in these spellworks would consider them superficial. A person casts spells that relate to their concerns in life. For a teenager, yes, that's going to be things that are stereotypically considered superficial, such as an anti-zit spell or a spell to capture a heart. It still meets the needs of the person at that individual age, though, right? Is this really any more superficial than someone in thier thirties asking for financial help through tough times or help in bonding a corroding marriage? These people simply have different needs, perhaps. What do you think?

I truly liked the movie It was entertaining to watch Though I admit, it was way off But a lot of the things made a bit of sence Like karma, what goes around comes around It was very exagerated, but the main idea was good

Lady Detarra, please look over our grammar rule. While you do use punctuation most of the time, you need to remember to use it all the time and capitalize the correct letters. Because of this, I must give you a warning. If you have any questions, please refer to the Three-Strikes rule.
