DDK stood on the rocks that crept out to see. It was a line of black rocks then went out into the ocean 30 yards to mark the end of the beach people were legally allowed on. The other side was a wild life preserve. DDK always thought the rocks were useless, even in the summer months no one ever came this far up the islands beach; the nearest house was a mile up. Every one wanted to be closer to the bridge so if a storm came they could get off the little island quickly. DDK stomped out his cigarette and closed up his jacket, January was cold in New Jersey and even colder three miles out at sea.
DDK was just watching the waterline wondering why he was here. In the summer months he often came to this spot to think, no one but the locals knew about the rocks so it was always quite. But now in the winter the island is almost abandoned and he has no need to come this far. But for some reason this morning he decided he needed to go to the rocks.
DDK took the scythe off his back and rested it on the rocks then laid flat looking up and the gray sky. Last time he was at these rocks was right after his brother died. His brother had...
DDK herd an odd sound, the sound of an ATV coming towards him. He looked up and saw three red ATVs in the distance. DDK got to his feet and grabbed his scythe. As the ATVs got closer DDK noticed something odd, they had no drivers.
"No drivers...that means..."
DDK quickly turned around and caught the but a shotgun to the face instead of to the back of the head. The blow sent DDK backwards into the icy water. He would have been knocked out but the water jerked him awake. He swam to the shore and before he could pull himself to his feet he was caught in the gut with a sharp pain. Looking down he saw a dagger like blade attached to a chain in his stomach. He fallowed the chain with his eyes back to a short fat man missing an arm; it had been replaced with a crude looking gun with the other end of the chine sticking out. The man hit a button on the side of the weapon and the dapper pulled itself from DDK's belly.
Thanks to the light armor he had on the hole in his stomach was smaller then expected but it was still bleeding heavily. DDK Pulled an old rag from his pocket and bunched it inside the wound. The looked back up to thee the shotgun and the fat arm gun guy together looking down at me.
"...one...two..."
DDK looked to his left and saw a third man with a sword running towards him along the water line. DDK jumped up and charged the man with the sword spinning his scythe over his head. When he got with in 4 feet of the man he brought the scythe down and stick it into the top of his head. The man didn't scream, he didn't feel a thing. The scythe came down with such a force it killed him instantly.
"..Three.."
DDK looked back at the first two men; they were running to there ATVs which had stopped 20 feet away from the rocks. DDK ran after them spinning his scythe. When he saw he wouldn't catch them he threw it and it spun towards them. He caught the legs of the man with the shoot gun. it cut them both off just above the knee. The mans scream was indescribable. The man with the arm cannon made it to his ATV and took off down the beach.
DDK slowed his walk and picked up the bloody scythe, He looked at the legless man who was still screaming. DDK lifted the scythe over his head and brought the blade down into the top of the mans head ending his pain.
