Step 1:

When you boot from the CD you will have to 'Press any key to boot from CD'
Step 2:

Now your computer's hardware configuration will be inspected.
Step 3:

The Windows Setup will now load all files that are needed.
Step 4:

Now as we are installing Windows XP Home Edition for the first time Press Enter.
Step 5:

Now you will have to accept a License Agreement to use Windows XP, so press F8 to Accept
Step 6:

Now you can select to install Windows XP or you can partition your hard drive. Press C to partition or press ENTER to start the install.
But lets have a look on how to partition your hard drive [by pressing C]
Step 7:

Enter your partition size in MB and press Enter, this will then create your partition.
Step 7b:

You should now see your newly created partition. You can choose to install Windows XP to the partition you just created, by selecting the partition and to begin the install press ENTER
If you want to continue creating partitions choose Unpartitioned Space and press C.
Step 8:

Please Select the "Format the partition using the NTFS file system", NTFS is recommended.
Step 9:

The partition where you're installing Windows XP will now have to be formatted and the time this takes will depend upon the type of formatting that you selected.
Step 10:

Now files should be copied to the Windows XP installation folders.
Step 11:

Your computer will now be restarted in 15 seconds.
However by pressing ENTER you can force a restart.
Step 12:

Your first look at Windows XP should be the boot screen.
Step 13:

Here you have to choose your Regional and Language Options, However you can change them at a later date.
So make any appropriate changes and then click Next.
Step 14:

Enter Your Name and organization (If you have one).
Step 15:

Enter YOUR Product Key and press "Next".
Step 16:

Please name your computer (It cant have any spaces or special characters).
Step 17:

Please Set the Date and Time to your specific Time and Date.
Step 18:

Please Set your Network settings.
Step 19:

You'll now have to let Windows improve the visual elements, to do this click OK.
Step 20:

Windows should now have adjusted your screen resolution and if successful click OK to continue.
Step 21:

Be patient and let Windows XP Load.
Step 22:

You will now have to click Next to setup your computer.
Step 23:

Choose the way in which your computer will connect to the internet and then click Next.
Step 24:

You can choose if you want to Activate Windows, you will have to activate eventually but there is no reason to activate just now.
Click Next when you've decided.
Step 25:

Add your name and any other persons name who will use the computer.
Click Next to continue.
Step 26:

You are now finished, you have installed Windows and you have set it up.
Click Next to start using Windows XP.
Step 27:

What you are now looking at is the Windows XP desktop.
