This topic is about the movie Oresama..not Miyavi's website XD Sho...has anyone here seen it? I bought it at Anime Expo for 70 dollars. Best 70 dollars spent of my life *glee* I just want to know about your thoughts or whatever on the movie. I've had to make my guesses on what it's about seeing is I only understand a little bit of Japanese (Nihongo wa skoshi wakarimasu XD) Basically i understand that he went back into his past...and he meets himself as a kid around the time that he hurts his leg playing soccer. At one point I do believe he might be thinking about stopping his "ko-miyavi" from injuring himself but..i'm just not sure. ANyone else have any thoughts? biggrin

XD I took the liberty of taking the dashes out of the title for the film and all from the thread title and your post because they aren't really necessary to write them that way.
I've seen it and own it. I bought it a year or two ago because I was just trying to collect Miyavi things. It's okay though. I understand Japanese, but you really don't gain that much more by understanding. It's really easy to understand the way it is. It's a cute film, but it's not incredibly profound and I was kind of hoping that there was like 10-20 minutes more of bonding time with Ryu so that the ending would have been much more touching.
Some people like it though and some people don't. I've talked to some people who like a lot of Miyavi's work, but absolutely cannot stand how he cannot be still in this film. This is even after watching some of his crazy antics in his comments and loving those. Something about this film is just different and they just don't like.
It's decent though and definitely worth at least one watch by fans to quell curiosities and just to know he did it and stuff. I like a lot of the posters and the merchandise they had for the movie though. I have one really awesome poster that I bought that's framed and hanging on my wall. heart

Yes, the little boy's name is Ryu. And Miyavi isn't Miyavi's real name, so why would his younger self be named Ryu?
Not that Ryu is his actual real name either because Miyavi doesn't want his actual real name being spread around, but it works for the story because you gotta call your younger self something.

Well yeah I realise that, I just didn't know that the boy's name was Ryu so I had this whole theory/plot in my head that i'm doubting now. Now I actually have no idea why "Ryu" would get in a soccer related accident unless it's supposed to symbolize Miyavi or it's a coincidence....and why..why do they have the same grandma if it wasn't Meevers? Unless i heard the japanese wrong...I dunno.

I think I typoed that. XD
I meant to say "why would his younger self be named Miyavi?" Ryu is "supposed" to be Miyavi, but there's a lot of things about the plotline (including the numbers) that are fudged although some things are taken from Miyavi's actual life like the soccer incident. The dates though are totally off cuz Miyavi would actually be a baby. XD
