Okay, the begining of this is a little odd but bear with it please. What this was is the begining of a story I was writing but it became a question of the relation between chaos and peace. All the points in this are related to one another and come to gether at the end. I am not implying here that rain has sentience nor am I using the correct definition of element. What I mean by element here is simply the basis of the world without getting into specific details.

This is also not a theory on the meaning of life, simply the meaing of peace and chaos and their relation to one another

The Essence of Chaos in its Relation to Peace

Chapter 1

Rain sprinkled the ground around where she lay. Time seamed to stop in its never-ending course, trapping this place, this child. The rain continued in its own way, but the wind held no purpose here. It neither blew nor moved, as if it too was afraid. The rain denied the existence of fire, though the flames of heat remembered its place among beginning. And though rain in its course falls to the ground, here too, the earth was denied its presence.

Rain is an element of water, it deems itself as an eternal constant as it changes with environment, yet never changes its nature. It defines life and considers itself more vital then the rest. When water moves it can cause both blessing and disaster, but it is never harmed itself. It carries within itself many forms of life but does not need nor care for those that depend upon it. So it is conceited and powerful, a thing that will forever be fought with and against, but non would dare destroy.

Yet so it can also be said that rain is not water. For rain rises from water and watches from the skies upon the other elements, changed by the wind and the earth, even fire can control its essence. So rain which remembers the vanity of water brings itself one to the other and descends again upon the earth, seeking the wholeness it once had in the past, yet it returns only to find a new place, a new water. So the rain becomes one with this new place of its element yet ever yearns for the place of the past. Thus is the chaos that is the element of water endures upon itself and its pride.

Chaos can be measured many ways according to the scope of its presence and its power. Water is one whole being, but also is it many. It moves and changes in an everlasting constant but so it remembers the pride of its power. This chaos is of the waters own making but also it is true that it has no control over its own fate. So the delicate balance of pride and power consumes its mind as it seeks to return itself to itself. The balance, which is its power as well as its burden, drives itself mad with the passing of years.

So is the element of water confined to itself, an individual being but never separate from that which sustains the rest of the world. That which it is required for, that which it hates, that which fights it but will never destroy it. That which is life.

As water is chaos, so is life a greater chaos. For life not only withstands the chaos of water, but the chaos of all the other elements, as well as life itself. Even if one were to understand all that is the chaos of water, the understanding of the chaos of life is far from that ones grasp. So water understands this as it understands itself.

If there is chaos then there is also the desire for peace. From this desire is chaos itself greatly made. So water knows this as well. For peace to destroy all chaos first time must end. Time, which is the second greatest element, is the only element that cannot end. Though water may dry up, fire fizzle down, wind never again blow, earth rot to nothing, light never more shine, and darkness return to nothiness so time will continue on. Even life will end.

Life, though made from and is reliant upon all of the elements, is the strongest element of all. For life can not only control the other elements, but change them to its own will as well. Life is also the only thing that is capable of understanding chaos. So life is the only one that can obtain peace.

Peace is the ultimate goal of all that exists. Though the elements and life itself is prone towards chaos, chaos is how it seeks out its peace. No matter how chaotic the elements, life, the world, and even existence itself shall ever have and ever be but chaos, everything longs in its own way for peace.

So it can be said that creating chaos is to obtain peace, but that chaos itself may be the only peace it ever obtains. So chaos continues as it was created to be, always longing for never coming peace. So peace itself becomes chaos and the will of chaos.

So if one is able to understand all that is chaos, one will be able to obtain peace. But the understanding of peace is understanding of life itself. Though one has life and is capable of understanding chaos, chaos too must understand freedom.

Freedom in its true sense is the total absence of responsibility. When freedom is obtained though, the chaos that is the nature of existence brings about destruction and in the end great chaos. Thus true freedom is chaos and the abandonment of peace. Thus responsibilities are placed upon freedom to limit that which is chaos. When freedom is limited it can no longer be called freedom but is instead bondage. So nature wishes to return to its chaos in its search for peace. So does it seek to create peace of mind.

Peace of mind is an essence both chaos and peace. Though life and elements may be in chaos, ones mind seeks peace within itself and the chaos creating peace. Though it is not true peace, it is the closest form of peace that life has found in its quest. Though it is easier to choose chaos in search of peace, peace of mind accepts that which is chaos. So it understands chaos is peace itself. Yet this form of peace is as fragile as thin glass, for the chaos that surrounds it seeks to destroy the peace it could not obtain itself. So chaos rages against that which it seeks, and destroys peace of heart.

Peace of heart is another form of peace, yet completely different then peace of mind, for peace of mind is of ones thoughts, whereas peace of the heart is of ones emotions. Chaos of the heart can be far deeper then the chaos of the mind, for chaos of the mind is of logical conclusions, whereas chaos of the heart is of the irrational emotions that are the basis and blessing of life itself. That which could be said that makes us human. Emotions are chaos in its truest form, for emotions are that which allow us to feel love and pain. Without these things life becomes a soulless being with no meaning. So peace of the heart is the acceptance of these basic emotion and understanding that chaos is the search for peace. In accepting chaos, chaos leaves the emotions and peace can truly be felt.

But even though emotions can be the cause of inner chaos quieting them and causing peace does not create real peace. For peace is the absence of chaos and though the inner being may have found peace, the outside life and elements will continue in their course of chaos.

So as chaos will always exist, so will the quest for peace. Thus life is chaos as well as peace, the two are as one, yet separate at the same time. Just as water is one, yet separate. So the end of chaos and the coming of peace is the end of elements, life, and the existence itself. Thus peace is the end of time.
