Hmm, well, I didn't become an otaku until 6th grade, which was a good 4 years ago.

Before that though, I was just some kid who watched cartoons and television for at least 8 hours a day. I guess you can say I was "normal". But it all changed when one night I was flipping through the channels and Inuyasha was on. I had heard about it, didn't watch yet though, so I gave it a try and I was soon addicted.

My mom watched it with me (She's my anime buddy! We do all sorts of stuff together...my mom is cool!) and she loved it too, so she bought all of the DVDs available at the time.

Haha, that's where it started.

hmm...I watched anime when I was small but I wasn't aware of it, I'd say it officially started in the 9th grade when my friend introduced me to Fushigi Yuugi...this does not count my Pokemon madness in middle school...I'm not sure exactly how it would have changed me as a person, because I was 13 or 14 around that time and I'm 20 now, so it just something I encountered while I was developing and it became part of my personality, eventually I got into manga, cosplay, and j-rock.

i'd have to be in like 6th grade when i was such a fan of inuyasha that i actually dressed as him for halloween the next year i think. i'm now in 10th grade and i've seen/read all the mangas and animes i could get. but seeing as i live in a small a** town, there isn't much. plus my town and high school are extremely anime deprived (its soo sad!!! crying ), but i keep meeting new people everyday! blaugh plus i've been to an anime con so that's escalated my otakuness. and yes, otakuness is now a word. wh00t!

before, i was just some naive little girl. life without anime is sad. lol, i always have to have something anime related on my wherever i go.

I had a bit of the "Pokemon madness" when I was younger too. xd I'd say when I actually got hooked on anime was when I saw Outlaw Star. It was really different from anything animated I had ever seen. I had an interest in anime from then on but it was really light. I became a real otaku some time later when I saw Cowboy Bebop. After that, I wanted to watch more anime and read manga and listen to japanese music. 3nodding

I had also been playing FFVIII (that's 8. not 7) around that time and that was the first RPG I'd ever played and, as you all know, Final Fantasy has an anime feel to them. biggrin I was in love with RPGs from then on.

I also always have something anime related where ever I go. I have a ton of anime music I listen to in my car, have on my phone's mp3 player and I have three anime character keychains on my keys. I have Chopper (One Piece), Roy Mustang (FMA) and Urahara Kisuke (Bleach).

"You don't become an otaku. You live your life liking anime and manga until one day you wake up and you realize you're an otaku."

That's much better, I think... Don't mind me. I just have a problem with bad spelling and grammar. xd
