Vergil with ease. He's faster, stronger, more durable and can regenerate from the wounds Sephiroth inflicts. If he lets Sephiroth hurt him. The only threats are Super Nova and Heartless Angel. Super Nova would only help him into SDT which would give him an even greater edge over Seph and Heartless Angel can be inturrupted within a second by simply Air Tricking to Seph and hitting him. Said hitting would likely end Sephiroth's life as he can't survive without a head. Basically, Sephiroth's outclassed in pretty much every way and when he isn't outclassed Vergil can stop him from injuring him.

Well, if cloud could beat sephy, then definetly vergil can too because vergil and cloud are on two very different levels....vergil is stronger by far...

And don't forget Vergil cannot be mortally wounded, while Sephiroth can.

Vergil could Air Trick in too close for Sephiroth's blade, because that long katana in a 3 foot distance would be horribly clumsy. The only thing that could prove to be odd would be if Sephiroth pulls off those teleportations like in Kingdom Hearts. Then they'd just end up teleporting behind each other, making a tear in the space-time thing and creating a time paradox by going back in time and killing Big Boss.

Although it's been brought to my attention this could be harder for Vergil than originally thought I'm still unable to see any real evidence for Sephiroth to be fast enough to keep up with Vergil.

The only thing Sephiroth has going for him is a cool theme song. Vergil kills much more than Sephiroth and doesn't gloat much either.
