I decided to greet everyone with a couple of poems I've written. One I kind of like and one I don't. Guess which is which?

Hope

Hope has a lot to make up for
That is what I've always felt
Bringing my heart up to the stars
Then hitting below the belt

Hope has dashed my dreams
Taken me to the stars before
Bleeding to death and
Left me on a frozen shore

Hold on to your reality
Don't let hope mislead you
For although it all seems happy
None of it is true

When it seems like you
Can do anything you want
Don't give in to illusion
It was all just a flaunt

Hope has a lot to make up for
Hope has dashed my dreams
Hold on to your reality
Don't let it get too far away



Flowers

I've seen the light of dawn
The light of day was bright
As dusk the curtains drawn
And I wanted so to fight

I've felt a cats hair
I've felt a dogs coat
But it all seems so bare
All alone in my boat

There are people all around me
Who seem to really care
But they don't see what I see
That nothing's really there

My family tells me loyalty
That I must and they do not
And while I tend to agree
It doesn't feel too hot

I'm always feeling pain
In a way I do not know
So I say I'm mad or insane
So that everyone will go

I want to see the moon, not sun
It makes me feel a kinship
Because I'm not the only one
Who has felt the lonely rip

When hurting starts to smile
When tearing becomes joy
And yet all the lonely while
They treat it like a toy

They all know what I want
Though them I can not say
Sometimes they begin to taunt
As the sky slowly turns grey

I feel the lonely breeze
I see the lonely flame
But I'm the only one who sees
How fast the flowers came

I like them both, but the first appeals to me more. Welcome to the guild.

I'm okay with the first, but truly like the second better. Part of that could be that the first is older, and those feelings are slightly outdated.

Those are both fantastic, but I think the second is just more complex and that appeals to me. great job!
