Ice Speed Race - non-winged dragons only
The Rules of the Ice Speed Racing Event
1. Owners and those who currently have dream dragons registered may enter. 2. An owner can only enter once, though they may include multiple dragons in their rp posts. 3. All dice rolls must be made in this thread. 4. No deleting of posts, this is something that I will check. Cheating = greylisting 5. Include a RP post with each of the designated Rolls. And then a final finish post. 6. RP will need not be extensive, though a few random points exist for those who entertain Tasah the most. 7. The rolls will be tallied along with any RP points given to decide the winner. Final tallies will be posted along with the winner at the end of each race.
Note: Someone can win purely on good rolls and minimal RP. #6 is for those who want to try and get a few extra points in case the dice decide not to play nice for them. As well as a chance to RP and build their dragon's personality.
The rolls that need to be made by each Ice Racing contestant :
Roll 1 - Roll 1 10 sided dice - Race start with short straight away towards the first corner Roll 2 - Roll 1 20 sided dice - Around the first bank, slippery stuff, it is ice after all Roll 3 - Roll 1 100 sided dice - Into the back strech, long straight strech, a place to recover or gain more ground Roll 4 - Roll 1 20 sided dice - Time to slow down and hit that second turn, or hit the wall Roll 5 - Roll 1 100 sided dice - The final stretch to the straight away, time to sprint and give it your all

Answers to possible questions :
Q. Do I have to make all rolls at once? A. No, you do not have to make all your rolls in one sitting, they simply all have to be made before the end of the racing event.
Q. Bother, I posted my pose but forgot to roll. Now what? A. Simply make your next post a roll. Do /not/ delete any posts.
Have a question? Ask away and I'll get it answered!

As the race starts, an icey-blue Dragon takes a step up to the starting line. He had a small, smug look on his face, which was rather rare for this Dragon. With his demonic-looking tail swishing back and forth, the Dragon took a stance on the icey path, getting ready to put on a jolt of speed, as best as he could.

With a pretty good start, the Dragon had bounded off, slipping and sliding here and there, but mainly staying upright. Up ahead was looked like a bank. "Get ready for a bracing Winchell!", the Dragon yelled to himself, getting ready to glide around the slippery bank.

At the very last moment, the Dragon known as Winchell lost his concentration due to a little ladybug that had been crossing the icey path. With slipping here and sliding there, the Dragon managed to avoid to the little bug, only to have himself get all jumbled up, crashing into the ice face-first, and slowly sliding around the bank, the ladybug behind him nearly suffering from a heart attack. "S-Sorry about that Ms.!" With a slight dark blue blush filling his cheeks, the Dragon managed to lift himself up off of the ice. Ahead of his was a long, straight stretch. Now was his chance to regain his composure, as long as another ladybug wasn't trying to be the death of him.

Alright, so this icey-blue Dragon wasn't the best at skating across ice. He knew that he wasn't, but he he still tried. After all, he was really the only Dragon of his clan, and he needed other members.. Simply so he wouldn't be alone. As he glided down the straight, he met with a few obstacles, such as rocks or twigs from who-knows-where. Merely skating in wiggly lines around the menaces, Winchell got back on course. Up ahead was the second, and hopefully, last turn. He needed to be careful with this one.. Or he'd end up with a flat face this go around.

Nerely flying towards the turn, sweat beading the Dragon's forehead, claws dug themselves into the top layer of the ice, slowing him down by just enough to round the turn safely, or so he thought. As he came to the final straight, he took his claws out of the ice, noticing how worn down they had just become. Snorting some at this, Winchell began to skate down yet another icey path once more, trying to give it his all, regardless of his very sore and tired muscles.

Practically flying once more, Winchell continued to skate along the ice as best as he could, not wanting to give up now. With blue eyes squinting and sweat dripping down blue scales, the Dragon had just about made it the finish line.. Until he suddenly tripped over his own feet. The impact sent him flying for a few seconds, twisting while in mid-air and then landing on his back onto the ice, denting it a little bit as he did so. Still continuing to slide down the path of iceyness, Winchell managed to open his eyes and look to see what was coming. Just as he did so, he crossed the finish line, crashing into a small bank of snow, followed by a very green bush. Groaning some, the Dragon lifted his head, smiling some as he realized that he had made it, his head suddenly falling back down into the snow, splashing a nearby ladybug that had been crossing the finish line.
((All done! ^^))

With a purring gruble, the very... Unique dragon pawed at the other's tail, staring out at him with baleful eyes. "C'mon, Sadin, you're a track dragon.... You'd do great."
Pulling his tail away from her attacks, he turned to eye her warily, as always, trying not to start at her lack of wings or horns. How she'd come to be this way, he'd never asked, though assumed something had happened to her egg before she'd hatched.... Though he was sure she was too old for him to have had his omlette fascination even then. "The answer's still no, Nima."
"Awwww!" Nimalina pouted at him, cute in her fashion, though still a little disconcerting even after one got used to her. Most of her life, she'd been riddiculed for her appearance. Riddiculed, that is, until Sadin had come across her one night and invited her back to his place for a.... Bit of evening fun. After a roll in the hay, leaving her with bits and pieces of the stuff stuck to her for ages, Sadin and his "family" had entertained her with games of Dragopoly before they all curled up and crashed. Not once had her appearance been brought up, as most of these were the other kind of dragons, excepting that little orange one.... But he'd been too wrapped up in his tail (and others!) to pay much attention to her.... Well, he paid attention to her tail, and that was perhaps it. "Why not. It'd make you look all.... Dashing for your mate," Ni tried again with a wink, though she had no idea who said mate was. The others had mentioned it briefly, but the subject was never brought up in full.
At the mention of Sunshine, Sadin's eyes glazed over slightly as he momentarily allowed himself to see visions of what could be, should he win. "The answer's still no, though I'll be sure to tell her that you thought of her."
Chy opened an eye from where he was sleeping on top of a rock, curled up with Cora. "Sadin's too old, Ni. Didn't you know that?" With a yawn, the well-meaning yongster drifted back to sleep, Cora's tail finding it's usual place clenched lightly in his teeth.
"I am not too old! I'm... I'm...!" With a slight roar, Sadin swung around, smashing his tail into a bush. "I'm not too old, I just don't want to do it. You do it then, Ni, as you're so keen on it. You run the race. I'll go with you if you like, but it'd be mostly to annoy you. Besides... Maybe," and this was the first time he'd brought up her appearance. "Maybe you can show those who've teased you that you're built like that for a reason. This isn't a race based on breed, only on winglessness." And it was true. Whilst pretty much everyone else entered were Doragons, the rules only stated that you needed a lack of wings.
Ni stared off into the distance for a while, thinking. "Maybe I will," she said almost inaudibly. "Maybe I will."

Ni and Sadin stood at the starting line. It was a lot harder to actually be the one standing here, rather than the one cheering someone on, but Ni's chin was held high.
"All the glamour you thought it to be yet, Nima?" The older dragon chucked wrly, seeming to be not at all concerned with the race. In fact, he seemed to be having fun out here!
Shooting a look at him that could kill, Nima smacked his rump with her tail. "Hush you, and get ready." Immediatly she dropped down into a very tense waiting position, causing Sadin to start giggling. "Okay, what?"
"If you wait like that, you'll have no energy for the race. You're too tense. Loosen up."
Pouting, she straightened up. "See, Sadin, I can't do this....!"
Gently, Sadin bumped her shoulder with his nose, smiling softly. "All you have to do... Is beat me. That's enough, isn't it?" It should be, though he wouldn't tell her that he'd try and keep behind her.... While he wouldn't admit it, he was getting a bit older, and knew better than to do more than he could.
".... Yes, that's enough." Sighing softly, she stood again at the ready, though this time more... relaxed. "Chy'll tell us when to start, right?"
Hearing his name from off on the sidelines, Chy bounced around happily. "Yes, he will. Okay, now? Now? Can I can I can I pleeeaaaase? Pretty please with sugar on top? With... With fresh fish and berries and mint leaves and.... PLEASE?"
Making a mental note that the little one needed something to calm him down before he was allowed out in public again, Sadin noded and got ready. "Whenever you're ready, Chy...."
"Yay! I'm so excited. Okay... Okayokayokay. On your mark..... Get set..... Get ready for it.... Wait...... Almost there..... Oooh, shiny object!" Sadin and Ni both roared out his name at the same time, annoyed. "Sorry! Okay, GO!" And with that... They were off.
Ni shot off, puling ahead of Sadin with a fluid grace. Sometimes, there was something so feline about her, it was scary. But she scrabbled ahead, trying to keep her footing on the slippery ice. Behind her, Sadin was skating easily along, humming softly. Silly fool -- didn't he know this was about speed?

Ande bouced about happily and eyed the ice. "C'mon Mali! You know you want to try it with me! C'mon c'mon c'mon!" He bounced around her grabbing her tail in his mouth and trying to tug her in the direction of the ice.
Mali let out and indignant squeak as her tail was pulled "Ande! Dun do that it hurts!" She eyed the ice along with Ande "I don't know, I don't think I'm very good, I bet Meleah would be better than me" She sighed "'sides, I might run into dragons I don't know out there and I'm really not good with new people."
Ande's eyes brightened at the mention of Maleah "We coul..."
"Oh no you don't." Maleah cut him off before he could finish the thought "I am NOT taking place in this insanity" She plopped down with a huff her tail twitching slightly as she watched the others race aout "Someone is bound to get hurt" She muttered to herself
Ande pouted slightly but turnned away, having learned long ago the it was best not to mess with his younger sister. "Aww, c'mon Mali, you always beat me when we race and 'sides your call is water. Isn't ice just another form of water?
Sighing slightly Mali gave in. "Alright, let's just be careful 'kay?" She let out a sudden squeak as she relized she was being dragged to the ice by her tail "Ande! What did I say about pulling my tail! And I CAN walk on my own you know."
After depositing his older sister on the ice Ande gave her an impish grin. "Sorry, sis." He glanced back over his shoulder towards Maleah and noticed the almost longing look in her eye, maybe she really did want to skate. He darted back towards her to try one more time. "C'mon, 'Leah. Just try it with us? I bet it'll be fun!"
Maleah blinked at her older brother, why hadn't he given up? Most people gave up on you if you weren't any fun. She sighed softly, she should've known better, her little brother wasn't like that, it was why she has somewhat of a soft spot for him. "Ande, I don't know to skate" And then added in a half hearted snap "... and I thought I told you not to call me Leah."
Grining as he saw her giving in Ande began dragging her towards the ice by her tail. "'s ..sy... you'll see." Bits of his words got cut off by the tail in his mouth. Depositing her on the ice next to Mali he grinned "But Leah is way cooler!" Hearing her snort he sighed ".... I know know, 'What is the point in being cool when those who like you for your coolness will just end up hurting you.' Honestly sis, you don't have to be so bitter all the time." He grinned as he stepped on to the ice beside his sisters to get ready to race and finally replied to Mali's earlier comment "Aw, but sis, safe isn't nearly as fun"

Ande flinched slightly as he saw Maleah's eye glitter at being called bitter. With a soft squeak he darted off, calling back over his shoulder "Last one to the finish line is a rotten egg!"
Maleah let out a growl and chased after Ande, completely forgeting for the moment that she had neverr learned how to skate. "You little imp! You're a......!" The rest of her words were swept away by a sudden gust of wind. With a growl she darted after him as he neared the first corner
Ande smirked, calling back over his shoulder "What was that Leah? I couldn't hear you, you're to far back! Slow poke!"
With a soft sigh Mali pushed off, gliding easily and carefully after her brother and sister. She was perfectly content to watch them race, when Maleah was competing with Ande was one of the only times she forgot herself and let herself have fun.
Ande grinned as he race towards the first corner not slowing his speed a bit and not noticing Maleah stedily pulling up on the inside. Glancing over he let out a small squeak as he notice she was almost level with him. He strugled to incress his speed even more.
Maleah let out a soft snort "Idiot, you better slow down, there''s no way that you'll be able to that this corner at that speed and not crash." She went to slow down herself and then realized she had no idea how, this was when it hit her, she had started race skating without learning any of the basics.

Maleah's eyes went wide as she hit the first turn at full speed, and started sliding outwards towards Ande. "Shot, crap, dangnabit." She growled through clenched teeth as she struggled to stop or at least slow. She braced right before she bumped into Ande muttering to herself "I KNEW this was a badbadbad idea"
Ande eyes were wide as well but only because Maleah was skidding towards him full speed, he didn't seem to relieze that he too was skidding towards the outside bank. He struggled to brace as Maleah bumped into him "Ooooph!"
Her hunters instincts kicking in Maleah somehow managed to brace with her claws and use her tail to kind of push off to side wall of snow. She let out a soft sigh of relief as somehow she skidded around the corner safely
Ande, however, had not fared so well. His momentem and Maleah's bump had sent him spinning toward the wall, and while his greater size and weight made it easier for him to keep momentem, they made it very hard for him to stop. He had franticly splayed all his legs out and braced using his claws, but it had been no use. He had gone flying, face first, into the bank and now all that could be seen or heard of him was his tail waving in the air and muffled curses coming from the snow.
Mali blinked as she came round the corner to see her brother's tail waving out from the bank on the outside. Hearing his muffled curses she couldn't help giggling and gloating slightly before pulling him out "I did tell you to be careful now didn't I?" Hearing his curses increase, she grabed his tail in her mouth and yanked, jumping back out of the way as he came flying out of the snow, landing flat on his bum
Ande grumble softly for a moment before realizing Maleah was now probably way in front of him. He boltted up and dartted of at top speed, apparently having learned nothing from the recent events.
Mali let out an annoyed sound in the back of her throat before following after the two "You'd think they'd never heard the story of the hare on the tortise."
