Never had the jellyfish lioness ventured so close to the densely treed area before. Not that she could remember, at least. Something about the formation had called to her on her daily wander through the savannah, though now that she looked back on it, she couldn't recall -why- it was as such.

Stepping gingerly through the more densely vegetated landscape, the Leboya paused for a moment, looking at the masses of flowers that littered the area, growing on vines up trees, and on bushes. In masses. In fact, once she thought about it, she wasn't even sure they -were- flowers. All she was sure of, was that they were pretty.

"Lovely~" she purred happily, sniffing at some of the more curious plants, before sitting down and nodding firmly. This was definately a welcome detour.

Shantanu flitted among the tree tops, her wing tips brushing against leaves and flower petals as she road the small, thin updrafts. Banking to her right she let her clawed feet reach out and snatch at a treebranch. Her wings folded beside her as she hopped to her left, moving down at an angle to peer at the ground below. Her warm, calm eyes watched the area with care and a bird's alert nature. The sounds of something moving below had caught her attention. Suddenly she saw a bright purple lioness moving among the undergrowth. With a dash of her wings she glided down to land a bit closer to get a better look.

It wasn't like Leboya to act like such a cub, looking about, trying to take in everything at once, while keeping a sort of star-struck look on her face. She'd never seen anything like this before!

The presence of another was lost to the lioness, over all the other sounds of the area, such as the movement of other small-uns, and the wind rustling branches and stalks of plants. With a childish giggle, Leboya flopped unceremoniously onto her side, her tail thumping against the ground idly as she rested her head upon her paws.

Oh, she could just fall asleep here. So peaceful... but probably dangerous. Soon, her ears perked up, seeming now to notice the presence of the avian. Curiously, she held her head up and looked about.

".. Hello?"

Tanu smiled as only an avian could and hopped down from her perch to come into full view. She had no fear of lions at all, due to how her flock and clan had lived in her homeland. Actually, she was searching for a lioness right now. She knew this wasn't the one, but that shouldn't keep her from taking to her, right? Warm and motherly was her thinking and moving along without even a hello was unthinkable!

Fanning her tail and preening a wing she gazed at the lioness with calm, warm curiousity, "Hello Miss." Her voice was controled and deep, making her sound like a well mature adult.

The lioness's ears perked ever to subtly at the voice that chimed out from the higher up peices of growth, causing her to tilt her head back and look up to see whom it was who spoke up to her, only smiling upon spotting the source of the voice, nodding in return to the avian.

"Ah! Hello to you~!" she replied, pushing herself back up into a sitting position and grinning up at Tanu, wrapping her tail around her leg and nodding.

"I didn't fancy I'd see anyone out here, how are you~?" she then inquired, her tone taking on the same one as you would with an old friend.

Tanu ruffled her feather's pleasently, liking this lioness's attitude. Other avians probably would have found it strange, but it reminded her of home. Her flock had always been on good terms with lions and the like. "I am doing very well, thank you," she crooned with a flick of her tail as she hopped on her branch, getting a little closer to her. "I'm called Shantanu," she greeted warmly, "May I ask your name?"

Of course on the other end of the spectrum, she was sure that others of her kind would have been privvy to giving her odd looks as well for warming up to one that otherwise would have been eyed as 'ooh, I wonder if I can eat it without it biting me'.

Bowing her head respectively, the jellyfish lioness took the name to heart and quickly put it to memory out of habit, her grin widening. "Ah! That's a lovely name, my feathered friend Shantanu." she purred in reply.

"The name I have been given is Leboya." she replied, again bowing her head. She too could agree she liked Tanu's attitude, it was very.. upbeat and trusting, not something she met quite often, as instead the spectrum she was prone to meeting was... well..

something about them made her feel sad inside, if not.. upset that they had just a sour attitude.

"Are you from around here?" she inquired, before realizing that it was a rather rude and sudden inquiry, and then turning a motioning paw to herself.

"I myself was just wandering by and was tempted to investigate."

"It is a pleasure to meet you, Leboya," She thrummed, shifting to make her feathers air out in pleasure. Meetings such as these were very nice. While she was comfortable with predators she wasn't stupid enough to think all would be nice to her. On the contrary, she had been chased before despite the fact that she would barely fit as a snack.

"No no," she peeped with a quick shake of her head. Her movements were sharp and fast as were thsoe of all her kind with her quick avian heart beating at her center. "I am simply a traveler myself," she informed the lioness warmly.

Leboya bowed her head again. "A pleasure likewise." she purred, laying again, motioning with her head towards her side, a silent offering of allowance for the avian to perch there if she were to choose to do so.

"Ah. Sisters in travelling we are then." the lioness then declared, a slight smile forming over her maw in amusement, before smiling. "Quite a chance meeting we're having, then. Two travelers whom happened to find the same place of meeting.."

There was a nod from the lioness before she laughed.

"Though, I don't believe in chance of cooincidence.. only destiny in disguise.."

She looked up to her feathered friend and tilted her head to the side.

"What about yourself?"

Tanu's eyes lit with a smile, "I find that the more you travel the more traveler's you meet...I think with little or no family to tie us down it is only natural we have each other instead." She flicked her tail, loosening her muscles before she glided down to land on a closer perch with swift accuracy. She then settled herself there, though her movements were still quick, in a sense that would have been concidered uneasy for any other creature. But avian's were restless beasts and for her this was being very calm.

Nodding with agreement, Leboya mulled over the validity of the opinion, and took it to heart. It was indeed a good point. "Some wanderers do have a family that wanders with them too. But put into it's most simplistic stages, I agree with your thought."

She watched as the avian flittered about, the notion of being able to fly passing through her mind, almost jealously, but she pushed it out just as quickly.

"Seen anything of interest on your journey?"

Tanu could not guess nor understand her new friend's envy. But then she had no such feelings towards other creatures...at least not really. Sometimes when it came to safe homes or comfortable nests, sure, but never toward the landbound ways of lions. She much prefered taking to the air and feeling free among the winds. Only gods and other avians could rival her experiences there.

"Oh you know, this and that," She chirped casually, "I met a snake once. Such a polite dear! It was much unexpected, since many are known to eat my kind."

The lioness nodded in agreement. "Why yes! It does seem that in general there is more politeness in the savannah now then there was when I was an adolescent. It's quite refreshing to see that we're not all trying to kill each other anymore..."

She frowned a bit. It was only a statement in general, though she was quite sure that out there, there were lions trying to kill and enslave one another, on top of other unmentionable acts of horror.

It disgusted her.

"I'm glad to know that your travels have treated you well. I've seen some poor little orphans I feel for.. so many dying parents now-a-days, it's almost.... depressing, no?"

Tanu gave a solom nod. While she had been lucky enough to experience sweet encounters of late, there were plenty in her past that had not been so fortunate. "Yes, it is very sad," she agreed, her voice a motherly mournfulnes, "Though there is little we can ever do. If there was never bad in the world...well I fear we'd never know happiness, though that is very little comfort in times of hardships." She shuttered sadly, energy passing swiftly through her small frame. She was very fortunate that her life was a good one as well-many avians did not meet with the same fate.

"But to experience happiness at the expense of another's sadness upsets me. To wish happiness to all would be too much of me, but I do wish them a peace of mind at the least...

is that brash of me to wish them such?" she inquired, looking up to the avian with a fleeting expression of remourse.

Perhaps seeing all the world gave her too much of a taste of reality, which clashed with her desire for others to be happy. Oh -why- did she have to be this way?

It.. almost hurt her inside to feel that way.

"Sometimes.. you just think it would be easier to be heartless then feel pity for all you meet...."
