have you ever been playing a video game, minding your own business when something so suprising happened that it just made your mouth drop open?
i was playing earthbound the other day (for the millionth time domokun ), i was in the underworld with the dinosaurs, and i'm all ready to fight chomposaruses until i get the magic frying pan. so i come across my first one, beat it up, then it says i got a present: the magic frying pan. FIRST TRY. surprised this thing has a 1/128 chance of getting it. i'm like.. staring at the screen for a whole minute, thinking... is this a joke? is it really the frypan i'm looking for? *checks book* maybe its a fake frying pan.
and yeah, i just couldn't believe it. domokun great weapon, though. i'm like.. WOOHOO!
what's your "mouth-drop-open" moment in your gaming life?

I don't remember the specific games this hapens to me in but I usually get that moment when im in a cutscene and the whole storyline just turns around on me. Another time I do remember is when im playing guild wars and im fow farming and an awesome shadow blade drops(worth 60k while it is still unidentified)

Hahaha, yes~.
But mine didn't turn out so well~.... >>;;
I was playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for GBA, and I was going against that prince-bodyguard-dude (forgot his name) and my character nearly died.. BUT~! I kicked his a** in the end~.
Then cue mouth-drop when I won... Then silence... Then I go 'squee' and I rolled... And went over the edge of my matress and landed on the floor~.
Same thing happened when I was playing Lyn's story, Hard mode, in Fire Emblem: Rekka no Ken...

One time, while playing Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones, my pegasus knight (Tana) was going to be attacked, and this was the fourth time I did that level because I kept losing characters. Well.
The battle system uses percentages for probabilities for what's going to happen. The enemy attacker was an Archer class, and flying units, Pegasus Knights, get about double or triple damage (yep, it hurts DX) plus I think maybe they can avoid it less, dunno. 78% chance of hitting. I was praying my brains out, and BOOM! It MISSES! ~W~;;
On a worse note, once I forgot to move a couple of guys out of the way for this person to talk to an enemy unit and recruit her before she killed the crap out of them, and BOOM! She killed the person I needed to talk to her with, and that was the ninth time I played that level (NINTH!) crying ;;

All through Hector's Hard Mode as well. Biotch it's mean. Lemme tell you, stuff came out of my mouth taht would make Slipknot cry.

Meh, my mouth dropped a few weeks back. I quicked save a game, so if I dun play it from where I quick saved, it restarts back to an old save point.
Anyway. SOMEONE said 'no' and I restarted and my characters levels went down by 7~!
I was like. 0__________0 :: Jaw drop :: You.Die.

I don't know if you consider this a mouth opener but I was playing NFS Underground. I was stuck trying to beat this hard as hell level, I kept trying and trying and TRYING, Just so happens my favorite song by Story of THe Year came on, And The Hero Will Drown. Just before the car I had trouble beating was about to cross the finish I came around him and crossed first. OOOO BOY WAS I ******** HAPPY AS HELL. I had to go outside after that cuz I was so excited... Then I went back inside and played some more cool

RIGHT AT THE END of Ninja Gaiden. the very last boss you fight was someone i COMPLETELY didnt expect to go all evil one me XD and i was like O_O......
xD but the funny thing is, at the same time i WASNT suprised it was him.

More specifically, when Kratos does something awesome... Like how he kills the Hydra, pulling it down in a huge pole making it go through the top of its mouth and out its eye... YES! BLOOD!

Oh, I have one.
I was playing on my PS2 a few weeks ago and managed to hit the middle part of a game I was borrowing off a friend. -- Beat him halfway >D
But anyway.
The very next day, I get ready to start playing again but.. When I plug in my memory card into it's slot...
THERE WAS NO MEMORY

In Tales of the Abyss, there's this one scene with them all running, and at one point it zooms in on Natalia, from a sorta top-down-ish view. It turns out she has a partially revealing costume on, and then the camera doesn't switch until you hit X or w/e.
Yeah.
