Getting familiar with the Arena (xD sorry about the bad pun. I couldn't resist. )

This thread is all about familiars in detail! AND their affects in battle! This will also explain a few things about what a familar can and can't do. Along with a long list (well... not that long) of abilities, spells and general how-to-battle and other stuff that well I hope I've not forgotten.

Familiars Stages
'He, the great and illustrious Helios Soulkage, high Archmage had made indestructible minions to perform his simple bidding...'

In general a familiar is called a Mooblet, and are sometimes found in wild droves called Moobli Droves. That is rare. For they tend to have very short life spans in the wild. Anyone can have a familiar but most go to the call the Soulkard. Somehow they are tied up with them...legend had it that they used to be mythical beasts that they rode into battle... *cough* Sure. Its only a legend.
They have three known-noted stages, and come in four different sub-species.

The Egg-Stone:
Moobli hatch from stones. Yes, hatch. These aren't regular stones of course. But special egg-stones. They come in a few different varieties, catagorized by color and some how this influences their magical powers, but not their looks! Unfortunetly we have not discovered how to figure out what sub-species hatches out of which egg-stone, its all random!

The Youngling:
*Gasp!* The little darling has hatched and? It looks like a blob! Oh no! They all look the same too! How can you pick yours our from the mass of the others?!, Well sort of anyhow, but they do have telepathy. When your little guy hatches he instantly recognizes you. All of these moobli are colorful as their egg-stones. A fair few have rudimentary skills of their adult powers.

Battle Progress: As a youngling they only have maybe one or two, 1-2 level spells/abilities available to them. Again they are not leathal since they're just rudimentary. They have a tendacy to use them in the most in oppertune moments it seems. But they're babies! So in a way its cute/funny.

The Adult:
With another shining blast of light, these little suckers grow to be about knee high on an adult person and no bigger. (Thankfully.) They can speak but it's up to the owner to decide how chatty they are. They are still linked to the owner from when they were a Youngling, however it is stronger. They gain better fighting/magic abilities and can now participate in full fledged battles. Or they can just be cute little elemental familiars.

Battle Progress: As an adult they can train to be the best! They will have full range of spells/ablities at their disposal. As long as they train them. It is here where it is most apparent of thier type of battle stance. Ie: Fighter, Knight, Archer, Healer, etc. ... There are classes involved! And you can progress in them. Note: you do NOT have to go this route with familiars, you can rp them however as a little pet or as a battle partner.... Kinda like Pokemon or Digimon, just without that "I choose you!" syndrome...

Welome to the nitty gritty mechanics of raising your familiar to be the best partner in crime... er, I mean.... battle.

How Training Works:
You can train only once per level. Also you can train in any stat you would like unless you had already put a free point in that stat at the begining of that new level. Unfortunetly you cannot train upon first level. You already get 15 points! Training would be a mini quest for you and your familiar to roleplay. (Even your Soulkard can get into it if you want to, and have one.)

Also... you have to train to get to the super secret stage! The alpha stage!
... thats assuming that it exists of course. (( *Wink-wink, nudge-nudge* ))

How Leveling Works:
Each time your mooblet levels you get one extra stat point to spend upon a stat before all leveling adjustments (Excluding the first 15 granted upon Lvl 1 or Hatching ). All moobli have the following stats:

Strength - Use: for melee attacks damage
Dexterity - Use: for avoiding attacks, ranged attacks damage
Constitution - Use: for hit points, armor for melee and ranged attacks
Wisdom - Use: for skill points and resisting magical attacks
Intelligence - Use: for magical attacks damage

Agility - Use: Only for turns, this stat cannot go above 10. (Its not really a stat. I wouldn’t recommend putting anything into it anyhow, but it's up to you. Also known as Agi )

The max that you can have (excluding Agility) is 25. Constructing your stats require spending 15 points in any stat. They all start at 4 for each stat. And depending on what kind of mooblet you have, certain stats matter more. Ruby (Warrior) Concentrates on Strength (Str) and Constitution (Con), Sapphire (Cleric) Concentrates on Con and Intelligence (Int) , Emerald (Archer) Concentrates on Dexterity (Dex) and Wisdom (Wis), Amethyst (Mage) Concentrates on Int and Wis.
