Please tell me I'm not the only one who's not ignorant D:
Jetro Tull was in my opinion one of the greatest bands in terms of being unique the world has ever known. The band's frontman being Ian Anderson is a great vocalist and to add to the odd sound of Jethro Tull, he plays the fife.
Jethro Tull started in 1968 with their first album 'Aqualung' with hit's such as 'Locomotive Breath' and 'Aqualung'.
My Father introduced me to the band and I loved them. It was just such a different sound.
Your opinions?

Aqualung tends to be a little to long and repitive for some. I like it though, but I think Broadsword would be my favourite song 3nodding

Actually, Aqualung came out in 1971. It was "This Was" that came out in 1968. xp

The singer actually plays the flute not the fife

I'm a big fan of Jethro Tull, too. My dad loved them, and I started listening to their records (yes, records!) when I was just a kid.

And I, personally, adore "Aqualung".

Yes, you mentiobned that they started in '68, however, you said Aqualung was their first album, it wasn't. That's what I corrected you, on. xp

I love Aqualung. And my first year in high school I was in marching band and we preformed songs from Jethro Tull. One of the songs was Aqualung. I think the band got 2nd place at state competitions. It was great. That year I played Tenor Sax for the band. It was cool.

actually, my parents had both suggested Jethro Tull to me because I also like Blind Guardian and Iced Earth and especially Rhapsody... *the Renn Fest lover in me ^__^*. Pretty much got me with the mention of the Renn Fest feel to it and the fife / flute *whatever that argument is about above ^^;*. Unfortunately the stores around here don't really carry too much Tull, so I ended up getting one of the greatest hits cd's. Aqualung is FUN, but I actually like Witches Promise better. their later stuff just seems kind of.. I don't know.. they kind of did a bad job with trying to keep up with the current style of the time. Their older stuff however, I LOVE IT! *protects my single Jethro Tull cd* miiiiiiiiiiine X3! heart

I listen to Jethro Tull sometimes. Ian Anderson has a nice voice, and I love the flute. My favorite song by them is War Child.

I adore Jethro Tull. I have Jethro Tull Original Masters, which has all their great songs.
I also have Thick As A Brick, which I think is one of the best songs ever. Does anyone else know it?
