How many of you folks have been to a knitting group, or Stitch n b***h? I just got home from my first one, and it was quite enjoyable. They were quite welcoming, and they were ooh-ing and aah-ing over my 1x1 rib leg warmer in progress that is my second project. Made me feel pretty good about my knitting, since I've only been knitting for two weeks, and I'm already using double pointed needles.
For that matter, how many of you knit, and what are you working on right now?
I'm just working on the legwarmers, and I have two scarves in progress. Well, one of the scarves is more like a table runner, the yarn is a bit hard for a scarf.

Experimentation is cool. I haven't made a foray into felting yet, because I use pay laundry facilities. I don't know how fondly they'd look upon someone choking their washers with wool and alpaca. >_>

I've been knitting for about...four years (?) now. Something like that. Anyway, i've made a whole lot of scarfs, a few hats (current project), some baby booties and i've attempted and afgan that i never finished... sweatdrop Anyway, i never did get the hang of circular needles those. I have a pair but i don't like them. If i'm making a hat i just the knitting loom. (I know, it's kinda cheating but hey, they make perfect hats! whee )

I"m the only knitter I know, and one of only two crocheters, so I'm checking out my first knitting group today. It's at a very swanky yarn shop a half hour from my appartment, and I'm a little nervouse, especially since I'll be bringing my lion suede and dollar bin accent yarn among their hand dyed, hand painted, hand spun mohair, silk, bamboo, and cashmeir.

Don't be nervous. It's all knitting, right? And you're not gonig to judge each other's yarn, or at least you shouldn't be. Have fun!

There's a knitting group not to far from my appartment. I went a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't bad, even though I was the youngest person there by about 8 years or more. I'd like to go back, but I don't have time and my wrists have been killing me.

I've never actually been to a knitting group. There was one about 5 minutes from my house but they went out of business. Which sucked. It looked like so much fun...maybe i should start one with the women in my congregation. They're always asking me to teach them how.

I keep trying to find a knitting group. So far I've only found three within 30 minutes of my house (and I live in the largest city in the state >.>) but two of them take place during school, and the other only meets once a month. Le suck.
*sighs and goes back to solitary knitting*

It's a group, usually in a yarn shop, where people get together to knit and crochet.
And I've turned a roommate to the dark side. She convinced me to try out the once a month knitting froup, and now we're both addicted. I'm going to miss it this summer.
