Hey well to anyone who doesn't know scientists have been redefining what a planet is, so Pluto which was under threat of losing it's staus as a planet has now been saved, and has kept it's status as a planet, however this means we are going to get about 3 new planets in our solar system!

Pretty cool huh... Charon and Ceres sound awesome but 2003 UB313!!! eek They better rename it....

I don't know much about it all, to be honest... but I just saw it on the news and I thought it was interesting. Any thoughts on this?

I have heard of a planet they found and named Xena. I believe this name was previously a perspective for UB313 But i cant be certain.

Cheron is currently Pluto's moon but they are both about the same size. I'm interested where you got this info, from what I've heard most scientist think of Pluto as a glorified member of the denobous belt (smaller rocks at the outskirts of our solar system) and only a planet historically. I've even heard debate that they are considering stripping it of it's planet status so it seems odd that they'd be elevating even smaller stuff to planet-hood.

Yeah. That actaully what they did in the end, I heard it before on the news. I suppose it makes more sense and is far less confusing than adding 3 new ones. Poor little Pluto.

I did hear about the new planet thing.

Charon is not as big as Pluto though.

It is actually smaller than Pluto.

There are alot of different rumors going around about our solar system.
