Bluey's Story

~ Character Description ~
Name: Bluey Dragon
Nickname: Bluey
Age: Young
Gender: Male

Physical Description:
Large, brilliant blue eyes set in a rounded face, below a fringe of blue hair. Has a hairless human chest surrounded by soft blue fur around the sides, and has a furry human back. Has furry blue paws attached to human arms, and furry feet attached to human legs, all equipped with shiny black claws. His leg sockets can be pushed into another position so that he can go down on all fours like a cat. To make up for the difference in length, his arm sockets can also be pushed into another position, allowing his arms to be almost as long as his legs so he can move properly. A pair of cute, furry blue kitty ears sprout from his blue hair, and a blue kitten tail protrudes from his pants.
He is very light and has powerful back legs when pushed into 'cat mode', and thus can jump high. He is short, and when down on all fours, is no taller than a uni.

Personality:
Although he is cute and kittenish in appearance, he is very shy and does not reveal his bubbly personality to anyone other than his close friends. Very nervous and skittish, he is frightened easily, but never lets down his friends when they need him. He is scared of the dark, and will not venture out on his own. He is terrified of spiders and darklings.

Powers:
When forced to fight, or when he feels scared and threatened, he will attack with his claws and teeth, both which extend upon attack. He is also capable of small ice attacks, and enjoys the cold. If his opponent is too large, he uses his fear or anger to summon a powerful energy. The energy forms a blue orb which is shot at the opponent. The powerful attack is sure to kill powerful foes with ease, but leaves him very weak, especially if his opponent was very large and powerful. He is believed to be the legendary dragon master, one who can summon dragons from the Dragon Realm and bring them into the realm he dwells in.


~ Story: The Beginning ~

Bluey opened his eyes and mewed. He was a little baby kitten, so young and innocent and cute. His cobalt eyes smiled up at a blurry figure. This figure was blurry, because he could no remember it. It was a soft, furry creature, and it loved him. Love... a feeling he thought he had lost the day he had lost that soft, furry creature. That soft furry creature that had give him life once, and lost her own to save him.

It had been a dark night. Bluey had never liked the night. But that soft, furry creature was always there to reassure him. This time, she was trying to take him to a safer place. Away from the darklings, she said. A place called 'The Agency'. Bluey had never heard of it before. But that was where they were going, and they had to move fast because darklings were coming closer to their old home, and they had to seek the safety of this 'Agency'. The Agency was not far. It was not far at all. So that was why they were travelling by night. It was not safe where they were.

Suddenly, she stopped and pricked her ears. She clicked her legs and arms back into their normal place so she could stand on her hind legs. Bluey was too young to be able to do this yet, so he merely cowered behind her. A hiss alerted him as to what was there. In the dark, something dreadful existed. Something terrible... something dark. A darkling. A thin, bony darkling leapt out of the dense undergrowth. Bluey's mother prepared a small energy attack, but the darkling was not alone. A whole herd of Ksslings had surrounded him. She could not take them all.

Then the fight began. It was a big whirl of pain. Then something hit Bluey in the back of the head, and everything whirled around until he was engulfed in blackness.
"Mummy! Mummy!" he mewed. That was the last thing he remembered. The next thing he knew, he was lying in the shade of a tree. A herd of wild unis were grazing around him. A water mare lay beside him, keeping him warm. His body had been bandaged up by someone. Someone from the agency?

"What happened?" Bluey asked. The mare looked up and nuzzled him.
"We rescued you from the darklings. You were badly hurt, so we got someone from the agency to come bandage you up. We wanted to keep you here though. You weren't well enough to make the short journey there, so my herd has decided to keep you here with us," the mare said kindly.

"Where's my Mummy?" Bluey asked.
"She's not here," the mare said sadly.
"Where did she go? When will she come back?" Bluey asked
"She went to a beautiful place. She isn't coming back though. But you will see her when you go there too," the mare said.
"When can I go there? How do I get there?" Bluey asked.
"You will go there when the time is right. But that isn't for a very long time. But don't worry. Enjoy your time here while it lasts."

Bluey grew rapidly, and his wounds completely healed. He watched the herd grow, and lived with them. Occasionally someone from the agency would pass by them and wave, and sometimes come by to talk, but Bluey would always hide. He was afraid of creatures and things he didn't know. After even more years, Bluey grew into a sensible, self-reliable kitty creature. His 'mother', the water mare, had a few babies of her own, but Bluey's best friend was a joyful young colt named Glimmer. Glimmer and Bluey played lots, and would go swimming in the lake that led to the agency.

When Glimmer was almost a young stallion, something terrible happened. Bluey and Glimmer had gone for a swim in the lake, but had to get out when it started raining. A storm was brewing rapidly, and rumbles of thunder warned them to get back to the herd. They were almost back to their herd's grazing spot when they stopped. They heard sounds of screaming unicorns and monstrous roars. The herd! The pair rushed back to their herd to find the head stallion standing, facing against an enormous monster. The uni was breathing heavily, and bore many savage wounds.

The monster, a darkling that Glimmer did not recognise, roared, and swiped at the stallion, lifting him off the ground and flinging him into a tree. The stallion struggled to stand up, but his infected wounds and weakness, combined with the mud that he lay in, did not allow him. The darkling delivered the final blow to the stallion, the last uni that had been standing.

The darkling turned around to face Bluey and Glimmer. It had seen them! Both froze, shivering, as the monstrous creature approached them. Glimmer's mother was lying nearby, severly hurt. She lifted her head and whinnied to attract the monster's attention. The monster turned and struck out, killing her. He then turned towards Glimmer. Glimmer gulped and sat down, terrified. He was going to die. The monster lifted its paw. Suddenly, a flash of blue light streaked towards the darkling. A mysterious, kind of distant roar sounded as the blue light appeared to take the shape of something long and winding. The light struck the darkling, and exploded in a burst of power, and the darkling roared its defeat.

The darkling landed heavily. Glimmer stood up to survey the scene. All was dead. His herd, his life... all gone. He wished he could revive them, but his powers were limited to that of a water uni, which he was. He turned to his best friend. The kitty lay on his stomach, motionless, his fur dirty and matted. Glimmer approached his friend quietly, and nudged his friend's face, tears streaming down the little uni's cheeks.

Glimmer lay down beside Bluey and put his front legs over his friend, laying his head on Bluey's back. He had to keep the kitty warm. His kitty had to be warm... Glimmer fell into a deep sleep.

When Glimmer awoke, it was morning. The skies were clear and the sun was shining down. The body beneath him was still warm. That was good. Glimmer pricked his ears and turned around to see a figure approaching him. The little water uni flattened his ears and bared his teeth protectively. No one was going to hurt his kitty again.

As the figure approached, Glimmer straightened his ears. He recognised the figure. It was from the agency. And it was with another figure, and four unis were following them. They must have heard the fight last night, but not come out because of the darkness and the rain. The figures hurried over to the frightened colt and picked up Bluey. The four unis helped Glimmer up, and altogether they headed for the agency. Glimmer collapsed in the warm sick bay, where an elf hurried over to him and his kitty creature.

"Oh, you poor things!" the elf said. She quickly checked the little uni over and bandaged up his front hoof while other agency caretakers took care of Bluey.
"You are going to be just fine, little fellow. By the way, my name is Naeva," the elf said.
I'm Glimmer. That's my kitty. His name is Bluey, Glimmer said to Naeva.

Bluey and Glimmer made rapid recoveries, and soon they were well enough to go outside and explore the wards. They were given a dormitory to live in, and there they lived together, happy as could be. They both missed their mothers and the herd, but they had a new family now, one that would protect them from the darklings and stay with them forever. Gradually new additions came to live with them in their dorm, and new friends came to the agency. Life was good, because they were surrounded by friends and family, and for the first time in their lives, they were safe.

Description:
Shimmer is a calm air uni that loves to swim and play. Her best friend is Glimmer. Shimmer loves nothing more than to swim, especially if her friends come swimming as well. She is just as home in the water than she is in the air. She loves to fly, and at night she loves to look at the moon. Shimmer dislikes fighting, but will not hesitate to splash or whach any threat to her with her tail. She has spent her life practicing her uni abilities, so her lack of physical strength is counteracted by her power.

Roleplay Notes:
Shimmer left her hippocampus herd after taking a wrong turn and ending up travelling down the stream that runs through the ward. She found a beautiful lake there, and became its prime inhabitant, until Bluey and Glimmer found her a month. Shimmer, who had begun to grow lonely, joined them and went to live at the Agency.

Description:
Saturn is a quiet uni that is nocturnal by nature, only ever seen by night. He enjoys the cold and dislikes hot summer days. He is a serious uni that has no humour to speak of, and remains calm and in control in most situations. He is intelligent and tactful, and is a natural leader. Saturn is not very social, and prefers solitude. He has a fairly cold temperament, but gets flustered and uncertain around unis he finds beautiful. Others, he often ignores. Although he tries to hide it, he really does love his friends, and often enjoys their company... as long as they don't bother him too much. xp He abhors humiliation, and may become violent if nasty tricks are played on him. Unlike most of the friends in the Topaz Herd, Saturn does not use his powers very often, preferring to use his amazing physical strength. He is also far more likely to fight rather than flee. He is the kind of uni that will hunt down and savage a darkling if he calculates he is stronger than it. His powers are not dormant though. When enraged his power grows to heights that he finds uncontrollable, and although he may be more powerful than an opponent, his lack of control will lead to his downfall.

Roleplay Notes:
Saturn has a mysterious past. He just appear one night near the lake that the Topaz Herd live near, and Aurorith persuaded him to join the herd. Saturn is considered a wild uni, because he generall avoids or ignores caretakers, although he doesn't mind sleeping in Bluey's dorm during the day.

Description:
Nicknamed Aquo, this uni spends his time in clean waters. He has a light temperament, being happy and joyful and difficult to anger. He loves to play with foals and swim, and you will never find him far from water. Aquo's life is filled with laughter, and although he is a dreamer, he enjoys solving complex riddles and using his mind. He is very in touch with his element, and is thus strong with his magic. He is fast, but not very strong physically. His best friend is Whirlpool, and they spend a lot of time hanging out near the stream.


Roleplay Notes: Aquo's past is a complete mystery, and he will tell nobody about it. He spends a lot of time with Whirlpool, and wants to become like his best friend and grow stronger physically.
