So today I was riding my bike in town with my friends Brett, Jakob, and Zach. Jakob and Brett are cousins.
We were planning on going to the river to ride on the trails, but the wind was getting too bad for being down there. So we stayed in town, and decided to play Ding Dong Ditch with Jakob's step-sister, Kashae.
Jakob rang the doorbell the first time, and we all ran down the alley. We didn't get to see who answered the door.
We did it again, and this time when we were behind a dumpster in the alley, we saw Kashae's friend, Wrae, walk around the corner, looking for whoever rang the doorbell.
Even better, we thought. Kashae and Wrae.
The next time, we went in the alley across the street, while Brett rang the doorbell. They both came out, and Brett took off around the other side of the house, into the alley to his bike, and around the block to where we were.
While they were looking for us, Jakob and I decided to get a little closer. We went behind someone's house, then hid behind a bush. Kashae saw his head over the top of it, so we ran off.
We did it one more time, but this time Wrae came down the alley we were in, and we didn't bother to run away. We talked for a couple minutes, then she went back in, and we headed back to Jakob and Brett's grandma's house. No one was there, so we went in, and then we had an idea.
Jakob, Zach and I got onto the roof by climbing up a tree right next to the house.
Brett threw three buckets up to us, and then handed the hose up to Jakob. We filled them all up, and set them over the front door, so that when we tipped them, Wrae and Kashae would be soaked. Jakob and Zach went down into the house, and brought the X-Box upstairs to play some music. We called Wrae's phone from Brett's, and told them to come over to Jakob and Brett's grandma's house.
Wrae said her and Hayley (another friend) would be over in a few minutes, but Kashae wasn't coming because she had volleyball practice.
So Brett and I were up on the roof by ourselves. We hid the buckets as best we could, and leaned into the trees so we couldn't be seen.
We saw Wrae and Hayley walking on the street in our direction, and we waited for them to get up on the porch and ring the doorbell.
As soon as they did, Brett and I went quietly over to the buckets, grabbed one each, and counted to three. We poured them straight down, and heard two screams. Brett and I started laughing, and then I heard Jakob and Zach laughing from inside the house.
We threw the last bucket at them, but missed Wrae, because she saw it coming.
Back down the tree, we noticed Wrae wasn't wet. Apparently she had sat down on a little bench, and had only been splashed a little.
Jakob chased her, caught her, and held her on the ground while Brett poured a bucket of water on her. So now both of them were soaked, and our plan had worked well enough.
We all talked for a little while, then Wrae and Hayley left.
