Skylare: Dimension Mecha


As K-0S's idea has failed to get off the ground, I'm proposing we start a freeform Mecha RP, allowing people to RP as pilots of any Mecha they can think of.

- Gundams (Gundam Wing etc.)
- Armored Core (Armored Core 1, 2 etc.)
- Tactical Armour (Gasaraki)
- Kugai (Gasaraki)
- Mechwarrior
- Heavy Gear
- Zoids
- Evangelions

Basically anything anime/manga or game in origin, so long as you understand your mech's limitations and capabilities.

Bio: Has trained diligently most of his teen years to become a Tactical Armour pilot, and has begun training in the use of Magitek Armour as well. He is often received as self-serving more than anything, when in actuality he is often extending a hand where he doesn't need to, and where it is needed the most.

He knows little about his family heritage, except that many centuries ago it was a very proud and maintained family line, for which he has little care for.

His father's last message to Vyse before he disappeared told him that he was destined to pilot 'Kugai', the weapon lost an eon ago.

Description:
It is a bipedal walking Mech, incapable of flight without the aid of jet attachments. It's offense include its front claws, but its main form of offense is Mana powered Magic attacks, which are amplified by the pilot's own magic power.

- History of Magitek development -


Magitek was a process invented by the Imperial genetic engineer Cid del Norte Marquez. This process involves draining magic energy from the magical creatures known as Espers and creating powerful weapons from the gathered energy. He developed this technique after Emperor Gestahl and his troops captured various Espers and took them prisoner. Many mechanical military devices were created using this technology, including the dreaded Magitek Armor and the Guardian. Also, Cid used this technique to infuse magical energy into humans, allowing them to use Magic. His first test subject was a man named Kefka Palazzo, who volunteered to do it. He became very proficient in Magic, but the process also had an unintended side effect. Kefka turned insane and became hungry for power. Cid learned from this failure and made a weaker, but more refined process in order to get rid of the unintended side effect. He tested this new process on a toddler named Celes Chere, whom he raised as his own daughter. The process worked, making her proficient in Magic while keeping her sanity, and from then on, all ranking Imperial soldiers went through this process, and became known as Magitek Knights. A notable exception to this was General Leo Cristophe, whose proficiency with a sword was considered to be the best in the world, and was a high ranking Imperial officer. He is said to have refused the infusion. After the discovery of the more efficient Magicite, pure magical energy in a stone, use of Magitek began to decline since the process was no longer needed to learn magic.

Description: avi

Bio: A zoid pilot from the continent Zi, Yokai is a capable warrior, though he does have mony issues AKA wont work unless he gets paid. He blows most of his keep on booze and parts and is a bit of a lone wolf when it comes to combat.

He grew up in a small village in the desert called the wind colony and worked for the Helic Republic in the Zi wars as a merc.

Mech: Zoid, Designed to be end all of guerilla and multi-purpose combat, the Shadow Fox lives up to its name as a wiley, and slick Zoid. It boasts a weapons platform capable of mounting an incredible variety of weapons, which lends the Shadow Fox utility that even the Liger series lacks. Couple this with armor better than a Lightning Saix, maneuverability a Command Wolf would envy, and a suite of sensory cloaking devices and you have a formidable opponent.

Unforunately all this doesn't without cost. The Shadow Fox's armor is only marginally thicker than the Lightning Saix meaning it isn't exactly designed to soak up damage, also to start with the Fox also has almost no ranged weapons besides the Laser Vulcan. Still despite this, it is fully capable of taking out pratically any other Zoid in competition.

Weapons:
Omni-directional 30mm Laser Vulcan Gun
This is the Shadow Fox's primary long range weapon. Despite the seemingly low caliber, it is a very potent weapon when used properly. It has been documented as piercing a judge capsule with one shot, while still hitting its target on the other side. In addition, it can do a lot of damage in a short time, due to its high rate of fire of twenty rounds a second, and can strip most Zoids of their armor in a very short time with a sustained burst. As the name implies, it is omni-directional, capable of hitting a target at literally any angle.

AZ70mm Electromagnetic Net Gun
Mounted internally in the fox's tail, the net gun is operated by first opening the lower section of the tail, revealing the net canister. Upon firing, the canister is projected at a high speed at its target. It has proximity sensors that allow it to sense when its target is close enough; once in range, the outer shell breaks apart, causing the net to spread out to cover its target. Once the net connects with its target, it literally shocks the daylights out of whatever it hits, though the net only carries enough current for 2-3 seconds of actual shocking. Of course, it can take the target longer to extricate itself from the net, depending on how badly tangled it is. The shocking current is strong enough to temporarily disable the target Zoid itself, depending on where the net hits.

Executing Special Abilities:

Multi-Sensor
The Shadow Fox possesses unrivaled scanning equipment. The multi-sensor allows the Zoid to detect literally everything within 10 kilometers. By uplinking with satellites in orbit, and listening in on ZBC comm traffic, not to mention linking with transporter Zoids and even scanning for the ZBC registration codes of enemy Zoids themselves, the Shadow Fox is able to find any Zoid, no matter how well-hidden. Unfortunately, the multi-sensor data can't be transmitted to teammates, but it's a small price to pay.

Smoke Dischargers
Mounted to the front shoulders of the Shadow Fox are a series of small vents which pour smoke out all around the Shadow Fox. This is an excellent source of cover when trying to sneak around your opponent. Be aware however, the Fox is still suseptible to heat tracking and muzzle flashes.

Strike Laser Claw
Like the Liger Zero, the Shadow Fox carries this powerful short range weapon as standard equipment. It takes a moment to gather the needed energy to energize the claws; once charged, they glow a brilliant yellow-orange, and are capable of doing at least twice as much damage as normal, uncharged claws would. Also, continued pressure from the Strike Laser Claws is capable of bringing down all but the strongest energy shields.

Optical Stealth Camoflauge
Unlike what one would expect upon hearing the word stealth, the Shadow Fox's Optical Stealth Camoflage is not a stealth shield. Instead, it operates as a sort of camoflage system, similar to the Snipe Master's, that causes it to blend into its surroundings. Obviously, this is all-but-useless on open terrains. It really works best when the Shadow Fox is in motion, since it only breaks up the outline of the Zoid (not much use unless there is cover in the area).

Anti-Detection Scrubbers
The Shadow Fox has these built into each of its paws. The scrubbers work to eliminate the Shadow Fox's footprints, and generally remove 90% of the Shadow Fox's tracks, making it very difficult to locate without visual detection. Obviously, they aren't intended as a catch-all, and will generally not work properly in mud or snow. They can be turned on or off at will.

Sound Baffle System
This system has two functions. First, it heavily encrypts audio transmissions sent from the Shadow Fox to friendly units, making them all-but-impossible to block or disrupt. Second the Baffle System kills any sound the feet make on contact with the ground, even maintaining silence over a metal surface.

Leg Anchors
Yet another ability for the fox, the small anchors can be locked into the ground, similar to the methods of the footlocks. These give it the stability needed to fire heavy weapons without losing its footing. Also, while not able to lock down and pin Zoids, it allows the Fox to stand on inclines that most Zoids couldn't even dream of, able to maintain footing up to an 80 degree angle, facing downward no less. This and the ability of the laser vulcan to adjust its position allows for some truley incredible shots.

Description: Avi (ditch the umbrella, claws and feet) left arm cybernetic (till i can think of something better)

Bio: Having erased his own memory Jay has no idea where he came from or why he is in the cockpit of an ancient mech. His only clue was a journal entry left in the memory of the mech, entered by 'J. Bonaparte'. Despite having no memory of who he was before his loss, he finds that he has a knack for building and repairing things, whether its an ancient designed machine or someones apartment sink.

Making the best of every situation, he's the kind of guy who prefers to talk things out first before resorting to violence. Always trying to defend others even at the risk of his own life, Jay is willing to put his neck on the line for his friends and complete strangers.

Mech name: 'Phage'

Description:
Ancient. The last journal entry remaining in the mechs memory provide some details as to its designs and capabilites. Humanoid in shape, this mech is of ancient origin and is unlike most other mechs. It supports twin syths under each arm, capable of four functions.

Defensive: Using arms as a kind of shield to reflect phsyical blows with its serated edge.

Offensive: Blades extend past the wrists and at an upward angle, providing an extended reach and useful in close range combat.

Unattached First function: Both blades unattach from arm with a length of unserated edge to provide a grip. Capable of been thrown great distances. There is no return function so blades must be retrieved manually.

Unattached Final function: Unattached blades are joined together at end with opposite arc facing outwards, creating a cresent like blade.

A great amount of energy is directed into the legs, providing an unbelievable jumping ability. More then compensates for its inability to take flight. Second engine 'Black Soul' inactive. Recquires alternate powersource. 'Phage' is unable to handle high calibur projectiles due to its rather light frame. Low calibur projectiles are optional.

When underfire, 'Phage' is most vunerable when distanced from opponent. Shields incapable of sustaining heavy calibur fire. Should shields fail, power will be diverted to either the arms for a final confrontation or defense, or to the legs as a means of escape.
