She couldn't help but sigh audibly as her son bounded circles around and between her front legs, as she was attempting to walk. Her eyes rolled, but there was nothing but fondness and a bit of weariness within the mother's eyes.

Jing'Fei would not rest until he and mother had gone for a walk of their own, after hearing about she and Ai's. That's how they ended up out that morning, while the other's slept. Where her boys got their energy she now began to wonder. Even she was feeling a bit tired compared to them. ~I miss being that young.~ She chuckled.

Jing'Fei's ears perked at his mother's laughter, but he just beamed happily and assumed she was laughing at his antics. Ha, mom thought he was the funniest! He didn't even have to try and she would giggle with joy~ You take THAT Ai!

The two figures were slowly making way for the watering hole, a dark ghost and her offspring in the dawn's light.

She'd truely meant to have left the lands the day before. However, it hadn't turned out that way for her, as instead, she'd wandered back to the watering hole after wandering a while after the encounter of the day before.

The light of the morning the lioness laid sprawled out at the side of the water, the way her tail twitched giving away that while she was attempting to sleep, she was -very- awake, to her own dismay. She was -not- a morning lioness, thus being up so early two days in a row, was really starting to cramp on her schedule a bit.

Finally giving in to the effects of her insomnia, the jellyfish lioness pushed herself back up into a sitting position, using only her front paws. Sitting there, she yawned in an attempt to get the lasting effects of the sleep from her system, then rose, approaching the small body of water she'd fallen asleep by to drink.

Ausi'Juu spotted the bright pelted lioness long before her third born son did, having a better vantage point as she could actually see above the grasses, where as Jing'Fei could only see what was immediately in front of him. The other female's pelt caught Ausi's eye with intrest, but she was a stranger to her in these lands.

She scooped Jing up in her maw easily, by the scruff of his neck. The young one gave a startled squeak but was promptly settled back down, with Ausi's paw atop his head lightly.

"Wait a minute, Fei, I'll be right back."

"What is is, ma?" He whispered, but Ausi'Juu simply repeated her instruction for him to stay where he was, and to not make a sound until she gave him permission. Then she was gone.

Jing'Fei wasn't all that sure if he liked this, it made him nervous, and he found himself sinking down in the grasses, ears never resting and trying to work his young nose. He wanted to know if mommy needed help, though there was probably nothing he could do personally, but maybe.

Ausi'Juu let her approach be known so as not to startle the other, and called out softly. "Good morning, friend, if I can call you that?" She asked with a curious hint and underlying caution, emerging from the green stalks.

Leboya dropped everything she was doing, then lifted her head up to look towards the course of the calling voice, studying the lioness silently for a moment, before nodding in reply.

"Why yes. It's fine for you to call me that, if I may do so in return, friend." she replied, moving away from the edge of the watering hole a couple of paces, then sitting down where all limb and fur could be accounted for. Afterall, she had nothing to hide from anybody else who may have approached.

"It -is- a good morning, no?" her voice seemed to be a bit strained in the ways of attempting to sound awake, but she smiled as she spoke, hoping that she didn't look like she wanted to eat the other lioness who only happened to be out there that morning.

Oh yes, how fate liked to bring Leboya to meet others under the oddest of circumstances. No matter, it wasn't like she'd complain too badly for company.

Ausi recognized the sleep laiden in Leboya's voice and offered a giggle under her breath, muffling the sound behind closed jaws before turning, calling out loud enough for her voice to carry.

"It's alright, Jing, you can come out! ..." She turned back to the other and seated herself as well, resting easy on her haunches with a content but equally sleepy smile. "It is, but I think we'd both probably rather still be sleeping right now. You can call me friend, and you can call me Ausi'Juu while you're at it. What would like to go by?"

A small rustling and the slightest parting of the grasses haroled the baby's approach towards his mother's voice, Ausi'Juu kept a watchful eye on the path to be sure nothing came after her son in the early morning.

Leboya couldn't help but chuckle a bit, pondering to herself whom this 'Jing' was, but smiled and turned her attention from the notion. She'd find out soon enough, she was sure.

Another laugh escaped her as Ausi pinned down her favorite thought of the moment; going back to sleep. "Ah yes, sleep would be nice. But the oddest things have a way of waking you up and not letting you sleep again." she mused, before adding to her comment, an introduction; "Ah, that's a lovely name, Ausi'Juu. You may call me any variation you would like to of my name, but I am most commonly referred to by Leboya."

Her attention faded, however, as she watched the grasses movement, which told her that whomever this 'Jing' was, he was rather small. Perhaps a cub or other youngster of whatever species he was?

Afterall, she -had- known lions to adopt the kin of another species, thus had to wonder.

"Leboya, Lebby, too. I do like the ring of those." She winked playfully, fully relaxed. It was nice to be around other females again, without fear of being backstabbed or giving the wrong impression. "This is Jing'Fei, one of my sons."

Good timing too, it seemed. Jing'Fei emerged at that moment in all of his pristine white and gold "glory", puffed up proudly..... if not for the soft panting from his excertion. His eyes roamed up over the body of the brightly colored lioness and widened with a bit of awe. Purple? He'd never seen someone with PURPLE fur before! O__o

Leboya laughed a bit, noting to herself that 'Lebby' seemed to be a common shortening of her name, as she'd gotten it the last time someone had shortedn her name up as well. It was all good, though, as she -did- like the sound of that.

The lioness purred, studying the child that came out of the grass, noting the mother/son pair bearing the same gold-markings, as well as deciding that the father must of had a greater amount of white in his fur, whether it was the father of the cub, the father of the father, or the father of the mother... well, once she thought about it in that sense.. the mother in the back-lines could also-well have had the white coloration.

"Well, don't we have a handsome young man here?" she purred, admiring the proud cub, then looking back to Ausi with a rather curious expression. "One of them?" she inquired, tilting her head to the side a bit. "How many sons do you have?" she added.

Jing'Fei smiled politely at the compliment, ears flattening slightly with a bit of bashfulness as he drew closer to sit in between the two females.

"Thank you, ma'am," He replied in a quiet voice, near a whisper almost.

"Technically three, Jing'Fei is one of my second litter. There's my oldest son Nukta, Jing's half brother. Jing has a younger brother, too, however. He's much more of a handful." She mused impishly. "Ai'kunliu, as well as their three sisters, all of who we left sleeping back at the den."

Leboya smiled at the young cub again, pleased at how well mannered he was, especially for a young cub such as himself. It wasn't common for her to meet one so polite.

"You're welcome." she purred back, then looked to Ausi, grinning. "Are all your children so well mannered?" she inquired, before taking to actually listening to the answer she received for her first question, nodding every now and then through the explanation.

So three sons, three daughters. How charming!

"I bet they keep you very busy~!" Leboya presumed, before another tired yawn escaped from the lioness. She blushed a bit, before adding; "Sorry about that." in an attempt to cover-up her inconvinient yawn.

"That's yet to be seen." Ausi smirked knowingly, glancing down to her child between her paws, who had been all but overcome with his dose of shyness, and ducked behind his mother's leg at the second indirect compliment and glance. Ausi returned dusty-jade hued eyes towards the bright colored female and her new friend, admiring her pelt discreetly as she spoke on. "Oh yeah. Children definitely have a way of keeping you occupied at all hours, until they're sleeping like little angels. I wouldn't change it for anything, though, I don't think many parents would. Should I guess you've not had any of your own yet, then, Lebby?" She smiled.

Leboya smiled as the cub hid behind his mother's leg, before addressing the question that was posed to her. "Ah, no. I've yet to have had any. Which is all the better, as I can't imagine how I'd live with myself if I gave my children the life-style of a rogue." she explained, then sighed a bit.

"Though I do imagine someday when I settle down somewhere where I can take care of them, I'd be more then happy to have a litter of my own." she laughed a bit at the notion, before adding quickly;

"No matter how early they woke me, or how late they kept me up." she shrugged innocently afterwards though.

"But that's if I were to be lucky enough for all to go as planned."

The older female nodded solemnly with agreement, expression an understanding smile. She could recall as well, the mistake of attempting to raise her first boys in the wilderness, away from the safety of her family's pride... She couldn't help but place a paw on Jing's back as she thought of her first, lost child.

"In all of my travels it seems that hospitatlity and compassion are far from dead. My mate and I made home here with no disagreement to be had. The rulers of this land are very kind lions. Though there are many other places worth seeing as well. My father's birth pride, for example. He used to tell us all the time about how beautiful and secure the lands were, but none of us know what became of it after he left. If you do ever have children of your own, maybe we'll be lucky enough to meet again."

It would be nice to stay in touch with friends, however far spread apart.
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2006 2:55 pm

Leboya nodded. "I agree. I as well have met many whom are worth meeting again. If only because of their kindness towards me, even when I did not earn it."

She mused over the notion of how many she was going to have to introduce her kin to when they were born, Ahh, this would take some planning. "When my children are old enough for us to travel in saftey, I'm sure I'll return here to let them explore, and perhaps arrange a few introductions. From those I've met, some have said that they expect to see my family someday.."

The lioness stiffled another giggle into one of her paws.

"Which, might I add, has been at least 3 out of four."

Ausi shook her head with mirth and chuckled in response, easing to lie down. Jing took the cue and moved from underneath his mother, finally brave enough to step closer to Leboya again and circle her with eyes a slight bit more gray than his mum's.

"You're pretty popular then, if three out of four have already asked you to return. Who was the one, if I might ask?"
