The morning sun beat down against the earth, and a breeze drifted through shifting the long grasses. Hasidi layed in the grass his red earthy standing out like a sore thumb. The red lion lay all four paws in the air, one hurt scared paw slightly lower than the others, his mind was filled to the brim with recent happenings. He'd met a cheetah AND another strange pridelander, maybe they were all strange.

Swaying his paws in the air he sighed, why couldn't someone just say they knew his mother? No one even knew she existed? He must have a father somewhere, right?

Nelu had be watching the red earthy lion for awhile now, ever since it had appeared to her to be just a dot when she had been a way off. But she had ambled closer now, close enough to see the body behind a screen of grass and the four paws, shooting out into the clear sky. She registered in her mind that one paws seemed hurt and lower than the others.

Nelu decided that she was going to call out to the stranger now. Any closer without a greeting would surely be impolite and the stranger might take offense; the lioness didn't want that. "Good day there, stranger lying in the grass," Nelu called out cheerfully with a gentle smile. Funny how happy she was since she came to the Pridelands, ahh the land had worked miracles.

The four paws blinked out behind the grass a his face peered over towards her, "Oh..umm.. good day!" The blush could be seen through his cream colored cheeks, no denying he wasn't sure if it was a good thing to be caught. Embarrassment was something familiar to the bumbling red lion.

There was a grimace that spread across his face as he stood up fully, his left hind leg pressing against the ground uncomfortably. "Hello there, I am Hasidi." He had a slwo drawl to his voice one that hinted at his natural demeanor. His eyes flicked back and forth playing over her form, she was older than he was, and very beautiful, furthering his blush.

Nelu's smile widen further as color rose to the male's cream colored cheeks. She could tell that he was younger than her from his growing mane, not so full to constitute adulthood, but very close. Though she could but much older than him, for she was barely an adult herself.

Well, Hasidi was certain peaking Nelu's interests. She felt an instant familiarity with the male lion, perhaps because of his simple shyness that reminded the lioness vaguely of herself. "It's nice to meet you Hasidi," the dark lioness smiled, though a minute later it was replaced with a look of concern as she saw the male grimace. Nelu trotted over, for an instant forgetting that they were mere strangers, and besides the knowledge of the other's name, knew nothing about each other. She eased into a stop besides him, "Are you ok...?"

'are you okay?' was the ever familiar question, one that was asked by everyone followed closely by, 'how did it happen?' Being asked this did not make Hasidi shy, feel slow, or even remotly embassassed it was like a story he knew by heart. But, her asking braught something up in him, he was terribly homesick.

"I went on a journey when I was a cub with my mother and she died, and now after so many years of living with my adopted family...and...aaannnd..." Tears welled in the young males eyes. It was an unusual thing, Hasidi had a natural constant cheery demeanor that was almost sickening. "I'm just tired." a sigh escaped him exasperation.

He peered up at her and a weak smile spread across his maw, he just needed to get it off of his chest, but for the moment it was hard for him to express his feelings. She was a complete stranger that he wanted to cry on.

Hasidi's mother had forced them to walk a grueling jounrey killing both of his sisters and eventually herself, Hasidi went unharmed. He's been with his mother Tisha since then.

The lioness stood shocked as tears welled up in Hasidi's eyes. Her question had been one of friendly concern; Nelu certainly never wanted drudge up the past with it. He certainly had a tragic past, not unlike that of her own, so she certainly understood why it shook something deep within him. Now, as she looked ruefully and a little appologetically at the the young male, who's teary face was oddly accompanied by a weak smile, Nelu suddenly felt very, very awkward. "I'm... so sorry," she murmured.

So the dark lioness looked left and right, wiggled her ears, swooshed her tail, looked back at Hasidi, and smiled. If he wanted to get somethings off his chest she was certainly there for him. Nelu was a very attentive listener. Or if he wanted to cry some more she certainly won't mind. She might even join him, now that she herself felt the tinge of loneliness within her chest. Though Nelu certainly wanted to do something for this poor male; maybe some food will cheer him up, or a quick dip in the nearby stream. "Are you hungry?" the dark lioness asked.

Hasidi could sense that she uncomfrotable with his tearing up; quickly wiping his paws to his eyes he looked up at her with the biggest cheesy grin imaginable.

"I'm fine, sorry. Just been a little odd being away from home lately," his drawl was prominent in his speech pattern and it was unmistakably 'him.' His amber eyes peered up at her curiously, it was his job to make others feel better and she seemd to be taking his title. "Hungry... kind of, it's hard to catch anything." he noted and looked down at his paw. It was a terrible thing that just happened and something he had learned to deal with. It was just apart of his character.

"What did you say your name was?" The blush crept back in, had she said it and he forgot?

In all the busyness the silly lioness had indeed forgot to mention her name. "I'm Nelu," she said with a smile, feeling slightly more comfortable now that the cheesy grin was plastered on Hasidi's face. It made her want to giggle, but thinking that it was quite inappropirate in their serious mood, she covered it, none too gracefully, with a cough.

The dark lioness motioned for Hasidi for follow her, trying to remember where she had left the small ground critter she had hunted awile ago. That would actually make a tasty snack for him. Nelu peered back constantly still studying the younger lion.

She understood his longing for home; it must have been the same longing she felt as she had traveled from the south. "Don't worry," she comforted, "sometimes... there are ways of feeling at home even when you are days from home." She wasn't sure if that would be of any comfort to him; she hoped so. "In the mean time, where have you been staying?" It certainly wouldn't do for a lion like him to be freezing himself in the cold wind at night.

"Nelu is a very beautiful name," that cheesy grin wasn't going any where and as she moved to leave he followed closely behind, goffy grin in toe. "Where did you come from?" He was thinknig about what she said, where was he staying? in the open of course! There was nothing like sleeping away from the trees he was so used to the comfort of the trees and rocks that it was so different being in the open.

"I've been staying where you found me, its much different than where I am from."

His limp was obvious as he walked, a constant dragging in his left hind leg, badly healed scars could be cleanly seen along the leg and tendon.

"Thanks," now it was the lioness' turn to blush, a rosy pink color to her cheeks that was barely perceivable under her dark coat. She padded along to the spot where she had left the small ground critter, it wasn't far now. Infact, it was within eyesight, over within that patch of overgrown grass up ahead.

"I come from the south," Nelu answered. She won't bother telling him where, for she wasn't exactly clear herself. "I arrived sun rises ago, and immediately found a friend." She was refering to Aadil, "boy I was in bad shape... but that all changed. I think the land healed me." Smiling gently into the wind, the lioness was lost in her own thoughts for a moment. Though soon she turned her head to the young male, and a flash of worry crossed her face as he limped along after her. She slowed down her pace, not wishing to give him trouble.

"You mean out in the open?" The lioness was surprised. Maybe this male enjoyed open spaces, many people she knew do. But not herself, she'd always found the idea of being unconscious in an open place slightly unnerving. "Do you like sleeping in the open...? It's always bothered me... maybe you can come and stay with me." It came out so natually, that Nelu only later realized that it was certainly an invitation.

He wished he could explain to her that there was never a need to slow down, he would always limp and it felt the same no matter what speed he went, however he was a tad bit slower than most.

"Yes the open, I don't know if I like staying there, or in the trees better, I come from the Kusini'wenzi lands, trees and water there.," he paused what she had said after that sinking in, ".. s..s..ta..y... with you?" There was a gulp, he was told not to take invitations from strangers, that and she was a pretty girl. Girls were Hasidi's weakness, he knew little to nothing about them. "S..sure!"

He was unusure what to stay it was hard not to feel a liitle intimidated by an adult lioness, they knew much more about the world than he thought he would ever know. His pace quickened slightly as he saw her slowing down, not wanting to seem weak.

Ahhh, it looks like Nelu would be having a visitor tonight; though this was no trouble, the den was surely big enough for the both of them. The lioness pondered her decision: normally she wouldn't even think of inviting a stranger to stay at her den, but to this particular young lion she is making an exception. Why? She didn't not know, only that he seemed a very nice guy and it wouldn't do her any harm to have some company.

The dark lioness smiled, innocently unaware of the implications of all this, though she was enjoying the moment, strolling along with the earthy red lion. "Great!" She chuckled; his stammer was kind of cute. "you just come back with me after your snack, and I can get you all settled in."

Speaking of snack, they had finally arrived at the patch of grass that had been Nelu's destination. Pawing through the patch, it only took the lioness a moment to find the ground critter. It was lukewarm, though still a tasty snack. She nudged it toward Hasidi.

Hasidi a first feigned disintrest he was not about to take this lovely lioness' meal, but hunger wins out in most sitiuations and he was hungry. So gently he took her kill and began eating. He was still shy and unsure what to say at this point, he knew a thank you was in order. He started to eat faster, avoiding the larger bones and snapping through smaller ones. The critter itself was colder than he would have liked, but food was food. Looking up from his meal he spoke.

"T..thanks..." He nodded looking up at her with a haphazard smile, blood was smeared around his maw, "Could you..maybe tomorrow teach me some sort of hunting..?" He was a bumbling fuzzball if there ever was one, someone had to be quite forward with what they wanted from him or he would never know what to do, asking things like this was usually out of the question.

Nelu watched as the earthy red lion plowed through the small ground critter, listening curiously to the trinkling crunching sounds as bones big and small snapped under his bite. For the gentle and shy creature that he is, and he certain was gentle and shy, Nelu was quite surprised at his vivatiousness when it came to food. But then again, hunger was one of those callings of nature that was impossible to ignore; he must really be hungry.

Looking at Hasidi and his blood smeared maw, the dark lioness pondered thoughtfully. "I wish I could..." She began, "But I'm not too good with hunting myself." She gestured at the pitifully small ground critter. Those were her usual preys: the small and weak ones that couldn't run too fast. Alas, food was food, and she was sure that with some practice she would be on to bigger and better preys in no time. Maybe Hasidi can practice with her... "Though you can practice with me," the lioness nodded, "that way we can both get better."

"My Tisha could really hunt!" he spoke fondly of his mother, TIsha. "I remember her and my brother brining home huge game," a pain echoed in his heart speaking of them, he was a fool and should of just stayed home, leave the roaming to the cheetahs, they were fast as hell anyways.

"So..umm..we can hunt in the morning when everything is waking up?" it was a slow thought and one that took quiiwet a few seconds to escape him. "Think that would be alright?"
