Raine idly poked the small black seed, it's surface still slick from the watermelon it had once been a part of. She had been there at the park with Mist for a while, having eaten lunch and attempted the slide over at the playground once.

They planned on leaving after eating, but Raine found that her guardian had fallen asleep on her. She didn't have the heart to wake her up, and the playground intimidated her too much to travel there on her own, thus leaving her to admire the lone seed. The small ice Seraphii settled down on her cloud, her eyes gazing away from the seed and to the trees about. The shade flickered too and fro as the wind shuffled the leaves of the tree they had perched under, birds singing in a flurry of swoops and climbs. While Raine had come to admire the general peace of the park, she still prefered that it wouldn't be so sunny out as she wasn't fond of it's blaring rays.

As Raine lay comfortably in her cloud, she found herself plagued by bordom, a strange feeling that was a mix of 'relaxing' and 'irritating'. She heaved a quiet sigh, looking over at Mist who slept on in ignorance.

Hatter had once again drug him outside so she could go wandering around with her little twins. That ment that he was stuck holding onto a little paper umbrella she had made him talking to bunny.

"I know, but she wouldnt let me stay home." He looked down to the plushie that was sitting in his lap. The plushie was balanced against his let and the end of the paper umbrella. Maybe he would have to thank Hatter for the umbrella.

He floated past a bright colored metal bar as the twins streaked past him and onto the playground.

"Andu...dont wander too far off. If i have to hunt you down i'm gonna lock you in a closet." The demon was kidding, almost. As she watched Andulvar float around. She pulled Lyra, her little girl, off the top of the monkey bars and told her to stay off that before setting the little girl back on the ground.

"I mean it Andu...."

Raine's eyes casually swept the playground, falling upon an unlikely group of newcomers. At first she simply watched their forms enter the grounds until it gradually registered that they weren't all human. Her eyes narrowed on a particularly small creature, sitting upon a cloud with a strange bunny and umbrella. Who--or rather what--was that creature? As she watched it's wings and cloud glide along with the demon woman and two other beings, Raine couldn't help but feel that it (he, she corrected herself) reminded her a lot of herself.

She flushed shyly, her cloud fluttering over to her sleeping guardian as she whispered out her cries with a strange urgency, "Mist! Mist wake up!"

Mist blinked dumbly, yawning once as she sat upright and rubbed her neck. Sleeping at odd angles in a park had a knack of creating kinks in one's neck. Mist blinked a few times, then replied with the intelligent answer of, "Huh?"

"Mist, there's a short boy over there!" Raine whispered quietly, tugging on Mist's shirt as she did so.

"There's a lot of short boys over there. It's a playground." Mist said, taking a drink of lemonaide to help wake herself up.

"No, I mean really short. Like me type short."

Mist looked up, her eyes scanning the playground until she found the very creature she was talking about, "Ah! Another Seraphii! I really didn't think I'd get to see one here." She was certainly surprised, and while it was unexpected, Mist was hoping that it would be a good thing. Raine really did need to go out and socialize more, "Let's go greet them."

Raine blushed and withdrew, shaking her head before ducking to hide herself in the cloud, "Lets just.. watch them from here.."

"Don't be so bashful. C'mon." Mist smiled reassuringly, her hand pushing the cloud up as she stood up herself, walking over to the group. Raine followed behind, almost as if stuck to the back of Mist's head as she occasionally peeped over her shoulder.

Standing at a polite distance, Mist made sure she wasn't inturrupting them before speaking, "Pardon me, but is this young man here a Seraphii?"

Hatter looked up from picking Quin, the other twin, up off the ground where he'd fallen over and at the other two. "Huh...oh!" Brushing her hands off she stood up and smiled.

"Andu? Yea." She looked at him where he was hovering near a slide happily in the dark under the umbrella. She noticed the little light colored girl. "I take it you have one too?"

Leaving the little boy and his sister to argue over a swing she walked over and looked at Andulvar then over at the other two.

He tilted the umbrella as the unknown two came over. They were out there in the sun in all that light and he needed the shadow over his eyes to see properly.

"I know, but maybe they wont be nasty like the others" He looked down at the bunny in his lap then back at the other two. "Cause she didnt come over and poke me."

He ignored Hatter looking at him. She wanted him to stop talking to the plushie but he ignored her. He liked talking to bunny, bunny understood him.

"Yeah," Mist nodded with a smile, "This is Raine." At that she prompted the little ice Seraphii to move in front of her rather than trying to burrow herself under her hair, "And I'm Mist. Pleased to meet you."

Raine gave a slow blink as she realized the boy--Andu, was it?--spoke to his stuffed animal. She blushed as she came to the conclusion that she was unable to hear his bunny. Perhaps there was some ability that all other Seraphii had except for her? Was she supposed to be able to listen to this bunny as well? She knew there was something wrong with her! Once again she flushed in silence.

Not one to be proven wrong or insufficient, however, Raine meekly coughed, deciding to try to pretend to hear this bunny so as not to appear crazy to the Seraphii, "Hello.. um.. Andu.. And.. sir.. bunny.." She shortly clamped her mouth shut, a mask hiding her panicked emotions as a thin layer of ice glazed her skin, almost as if to create a barrier between herself and her freight.

"I'm Hatter" She reached down and she spoke and grabed Lyra as she ran past with the intention to pelt her brother with a handfull of sand. Lyra quickly droppped the sand and skurried off. "And that's Andulvar, the even unsocial. Unless you are a plush bunny"

She almost laughed as Raine spoke to the bunny but didnt. That would only make Andulvar do it more and she didnt want that.

He smirked as she addressed Bunny. That was good, she needed to listen to Bunny. "Name's Andulvar. Only Bunny and Hatter call me Andu." She wasnt his friend so she didnt get to call him that.

The bunny plushie tilted as Andulvar shifted and he reached down and sat Bunny back up. "Bunny says you need to tell him you're name"

Mist chuckled, "I see. One of those childhood stages then? And who are they?" She nodded her head towards the other two siblings who seemed to be enjoying their time there, albeit with a bit of a mischevious streak.

Raine blushed but kept silent in an attempt to collect up a reply. Was she supposed to apologize? But it wasn't her fault... maybe it was a custom to wait for a Seraphii to introduce themselves first rather than basing the name off what other said? She kept her eyes down at her hands, worried that she had already insulted the Seraphii. Raine shook herself to attention, however, when the strange boy in the shadow spoke again, "Bunny.. oh, ah.. I'm.. um.. Raine." She finally managed to spit it out, once again feeling frustrated at falling over her own words. For all she knew, she probably missed some sort of custom. Following Mist's protocol, she continued with the polite reply, "Pleased to meet you, Andulvar and.. Bunny." She felt awkward speaking to this Seraphii that was the same as her, and yet he seemed like a foreign thing. She knew that it was because she was not yet used to others, but couldn't help but feel awkward regardless.

Raine briefly pondered as to his nature, standing there in the shadows with a little umbrella alongside his bunny. Did he not like the light either? She herself had no issues with light, she just prefered not to be out in the heat. Perhaps he was allergic to the sun? She had read there was such a condition in one of the medical books, however she had assumed those conditions only applied to humans.

"He's always been like that." She shook her head, tail lazily swishing behind her. "I think its just his nature, but it is a little weird that he is social with a bunny plushie."

She looked over to the twins. "Thoes are Lyra and Quin. Little twins i addopted." Lyra had set her lion plushie on her brother's head and was making him stand still so the plushie didnt fall off.

He floated just a little closer to her. She seemed, well, dumb enough to fall for stuff so maybe he could get her to listen to him. "Raine....Bunny says you are good enough to stick around, for now."

He shifted the umbrella as he floated closer. His tail dangled under the cloud, the little lines of color on it glowing slightly, and wiggled as he moved.

"Perhaps he'll outgrow it? Raine had a little stuffed animal of a kitty that she used to carry around with her everywhere, though lately she leaves him at home in her bed." Mist gave a short shrug, her attempt at consolation a small one, "Adopted twins, huh? That's pretty cool. Must be a handful, though they're really adorable." She smiled as she watched the young twins.

Good enough? Raine blinked. Since when did she have to be good enough? Was there some other ettiquette of the Seraphii that she did not know of? She severly wished for her books to do research, and couldn't tell whether she should be insulted at the boy's arrogance or ashamed at her own ignorance. Finally she spoke from her icy silence, "Oh.. okay.." And once more she lost her words. What was she supposed to do with another Seraphii? Perhaps he might want to talk about the wonders of human organs such as the liver, or maybe the digestive system. Those were strange topics in the books she had just read.

As she stared at the bunny, however, Raine had a feeling he wouldn't appreciate the strangeness of human anatomy as much as she. Her eyes fell back to her hands as she twiddled her thumbs, trying to remember if she had read anything about social situations. He reminded her a bit of a character from a story she had read about a prince who demanded things and was turned into an animal because of it. Maybe the bunny was part of him turned into an animal? She almost snickered at the thought, but instantly admonished herself, not once breaking her facial mask. It was rude of her to assume that of this boy. No, it was probably that she was missing some sort of ettiquette, and that he wasn't being rude, but formal. Maybe. Hopefully. Raine shook herself mentally, getting back on track.

Raine nearly jumped as she realized he had come closer, and again when she realized he had a tail. She watched it move intently, as if trying to determine whether it was real or not. Perhaps it was a leech that attached itself to his rear end? Or what if all Seraphii had tails except for her? She shifted uncomfortably, once again resuming her neutral expression.

"Their not as much trouble as they could be, i have another son who helps. Though he's moving out soon so i will have to watch them on my own, well beside the Jivvin." She shook her head. Jhadia had gotten almost worse now that she was grown but she was a very good babysitter.

"Its rude to stare." He huffed as he noticed she was staring at his tail. The afformentioned appendage curled up around his legs and poked though the cloud he was floating on slightly. "Bunny says you should appologize."

What did she think she was going staring at his tail and Bunny like that? Her mommy should have taught her better. It was rude and he didnt like rudeness.

"Would you like it if i stared at you?" His stare was probably a little more creepy than hers though. It was almost like he could see something that no one else could see.

"Wow, sounds like you've got quite the handful there." Mist said, "Moving out, huh? They grow up so fast.." She peered over at Raine, who seemed to be doing fairly well considering, then turned back to the demon, "Jivvin?"

Raine blinked at the sudden statement, becoming confused. She trusted her books, however, and decided to inform the poor soul that staring wasn't rude, "I would not mind if you stared at me." She began, "Staring is a way of observing things around oneself. Lots of things are discovered by means of staring, or at least is a way of satiating curiosity. I was observing you so as to know how to act before you and.. Bunny." Raine left out the part about not knowing if tails were natural or not, opting instead to try and calm the arrogant boy. She blushed shortly after, realizing how much she had spoken, perhaps even out of place. No, she had to be right. Her books listed many ways of observation and writing it down and even making whole written essays based on observation, and staring was much like observing, right? Right!

"Yea. He's moving in with one of his friends so that their art projects dont ruin their parents houses." She chuckled slightly then stopped at the other womans question. "Oh, yes. Jivvin's are a kind of canine creature. I have two of them. One belongs to Lyra there and helps me watch the little ones."

"No. Staring is rude." he huffed. He knew it was, Hatter always said it was to the kids. And it was. Everyone knew you didnt stare at people. He crossed his arms and glared at her. How dare she tell him he was wrong.

"If you look and ask questions that's different. But just staring at someone is rude and nasty." He stuck his tongue out at her. "Bunny says so too." And bunny was never wrong.

"Aah, art projects? Sounds fun. I do some art myself. Is it for a class or something?" Mist nodded her head, listening as Hatter informed her as to what Jivvin was, "Quite the family there."

"The books I read say staring is to help one gain knowledge. Asking questions is also a good.. I apologize for not asking a question. If I didn't observe you, I wouldn't have known you have a tail. Nice tail, by the way." Raine added quickly, trying to soften her words, though she refused to apologize for staring, "I'm sure.. Bunny.. is right, but perhaps I am too.. like there's different staring. Please tell me, why is staring rude?" Raine blinked, trying to understand this boy's argument.

She blinked in sudden surprise as he stuck out his tongue at her. Was there something wrong with it? Was he giving it fresh air? Tasting the air? Seeing as he said it wasn't rude to ask questions, she decided to take advantage of the offer, "Why do you stick your tongue out so?"

"No, its more of how they make money. My boy makes bead jewerly and his friend is a painter. So they can very easily make a mess of a room." She chuckled slightly as she remembered picking up beads. "Yea, i have a rather large family, but it makes things fun."

"No, that's observing and you can only do that if you ASK people otherwise it is staring and its rude. Go read a dictionary before you tell someone something's not rude. Everyone says staring is rude."

His eyes widened as she asked about his tonge. "Wow...you really are dumb." He looked down at the plushie. "She dosent even know why people stick their tongues out." Looking back up at her he fiddled with the plushie's ear. "Its just something to do. Like you dont like something or want to prove a point or something. People just do it, i dont know why" What was he a book? He couldnt explain why. He'd seen Haikaido stick his tongue out at Paun and some of the others do it too. It worked so he did it.

"Beaded jewelry and painting? Wow, sounds like a lot of fun." Mist grinned cheerfully, "I'll bet that is rather hard to keep clean. So do you guys have huge family get-together things?" Mist briefly looked over at Raine, surprised to see the small Seraphii actually talking to the near-stranger. Meeting another Seraphii must have been good for her, especially as they seemed to be getting along fine, considering Raine hadn't run off to hide yet.

"Sometimes people like scientists have no one to ask because they have to discover it themselves." Raine replied cooly, "And I have read the dictionary. I just have forgotten a few words here and there."

Raine suddenly felt indignant upon the insult. She prided herself in her reading capabilities, and being called 'dumb' would mean that she failed in learning. She briefly remembered reading tales of medieval times where there were kind and sweet rulers and then there were arrogant and mean rulers. Somehow he reminded her of a demanding prince, and wondered if playing off that would do anything, "So.. you just do what everyone wants you to do? Like.. a servant? You say staring is rude because everyone else does it? Stick out your tongue because others do it?"

Raine felt guilty at her retort, though she had said it mostly out of curiosity as to how he would react. Though, perhaps he was like her and just wanted to fit in.. She pretended to hear his bunny so she wouldn't be thought of as crazy, so perhaps he did these pointless things to fit into some other sort of society as well? But what sort of group would he want to join that would stick out their tongues just to stick them out? If he would properly explain the staring and the tongue-sticking she wouldn't mind, but his explanations were lacking the evidence that her books would normally list.
