Ayahh! I love Nightwish. The only album I own is "Once," but I hear it isn't as good as their older stuff. I love the POTO cover.
My CD wallet consists of:
Nightwish: Once
Evanescence: Fallen (though I don't listen to it much anymore)
All three LOTR soundtracks and a soundtrack "inspired by" LOTR
The White Stripes: Elephant heart
k-os: Joyful Rebellion gonk heart
Sam Roberts: We Were Born in a Flame
Dan Gibson's Solitudes: Beethoven - Forever by the Sea heart
A mix CD of mostly Canadian new rock
A CD of mostly Legend of Zelda songs
Avril Lavigne: Let Go (for nostalgia purposes XD)
The Shrek soundtrack
Juno Nominees 2004 (kind of like the Canadian Grammies)
Backstreet Boys (four albums XD they're not dead yet!)
And then some stuff I choose not to remember... like MUCH Dance 2003 and 2004, Destiny's Child, etc. They no longer reflect my tastes.
I also like System of a Down's older stuff. *GLOMP*
You love Nightwish!!!!!!!!
Yeah, they're my fave^_^ Once is a great album but I still like Wishmaster and Century Child the best!
As for Evanescence, I love "Fallen", but as you said, I don't listen to it much either. I managed to get a hold of the rare demo cd...it's much better. (The song October is amazing).
Also, I too have the Zelda cd's playing constantly.
Also, since you like the LOTR soundtracks and the cd inspired by LOTR, I'll reccomend a cd by a German band called Blind Guardian.
They have an album called "Nightfall in Middle Earth" which is based off of Tolkien's book "The Silmarillion". Have no fear, the singer can actually sing, he doesn't do the annoying growl/scream you hear in most metal. He has a very well trained voice that he uses (more along the lines of a classically trained singer). The sound is not angry, it sounds like a group of minstrels with electric guitars! Great cd, 20 something songs (some are 30-50 second spoken word things). If you like Tolkein, you'd really enjoy the cd. (good songs to check out off of it if you would like to download a few are "Nightfall", "Mirror Mirror", "When Sorrow Sang", and "The Curse of Feanor".
Interestingly enough, their followup cd had a song based off of DragonLance (The Soulforged) and Homer's Illiad (The song is a 15 minute opus called "And then there was Silence"...there is a part in there that you cant help but get stuck in your head
xd )
But anyhoo....Yeah, if you like Nightwish's "Once", I would reccomend you check out "Century Child" and "Wishmaster"^_^
Also check out the progressive metal group Sonata Arctica. They're another good band from Finland (Where Nightwish is from^_^)
