I've played violin for (pulls out fingers and starts counting...) almost six years, and I'm still not any good... sad I love to play, though, and when I CAN play a song it makes me happy...

Hi! I've been playing violin for 17 years. I started at age 4 and am in college for my music performance degree. I love playing big concertos and memorizing them. I feel so much freer when I play by memory. I got an electric violin too that I use in some of my bands. Comes in handy at night clubs.

I'm with you ^
I've been playing for nearly 10 years but it's my secondary instrument. I haven't had lessons in 5 years but still play in the community orchestra. I love the sound and feeling of being in an orchestra almost as much as performing a Sonata or Concerto on piano.

I've been playing for seven years now and I'm currently doing my Grade 5, hopefully around winter. I also play the electric violin which is awesome! whee

I've been playing for about 4 years, and now am switching to the Viola for school orchestra (otherwise, there'd only be one violist XP)

I'm not a violinist, but props to those of you who are pursuing it...Tough instrument to get popular, especially in modern music. Unless you're playing classical or bluegrass. I've picked up mandolin over the last year...My first new instrument since guitar, ten years ago. Mandolin's like violin though....And I want to be noticed, too....
