The light brown lioness's muscles were taunt and her breathing labored adn her eyes focused. I will get that little bird! she thought determined, she had a hankering (yes, a hankering) for small game, preferably bird or maybe a small ground animal. She sighed knowing that her attempts would probably be futile. She could take down a small gazelle but some how small critters escaped her grasp.
Knowing Mvumo would be near she wasn't too worried, after all Mvumo would help, if she asked.
She enjoyed the excitment of a chase and crouched down to get into a better pouncing position she waited.

Mvumo's dark brown eyes watched the scene with interest. He was lying down safely in the distance, where he would not be something that could wreck Aadil's hunt. He'd help her as soon as (IF!) she needed it, but he knew that his large form would likely scare off whatever she was chasing.
What WAS she after, anyway? He couldn't see the creature from his position, and it made him curious. Was she really after something, or was she planning to sneak up behind him and teasingly pounce on him? Either way, he'd be entertained.

Ready...steady...pounce!
Aadil's large form could be seen have gliding half soaring through the air towards the bird, it was a large fowl, probably young. And the littler bugger just slipped her grip and soared through the air.
"Bugger!" She called laughingly. Her light blue orbs scaned the area, and spotted a spying lion.
"Like what you see?" She called happily and trotted quickly towards him, "I'm a lousy hunter!" She was confident in her abilities to hunt, but it was always a good thing to hear a compliment now and again, yep that's right fishing for compliments!

Mvumo resisted laughing as he watched the catch soar through the air away from them. "Of course I like what I see," he said, smirking at Aadil as she approached. "But you are not a lousy hunter. I could not catch a creature of the air either." Even when one was right in front of me, he mused to himself, thinking of his promise to the bird to look for a lioness of desert heritage in the lands. He wasn't going to be diligent about that one, though. He'd just let the bird know if he saw such an impossibility.
"Having a good day, Aadil?" he had dropped the 'Miss' now, for she was practically his second half now, and he didn't feel comfortable using such a formal title anymore.

"I had an idea to try and catch a bird or maybe a small ground creature, I have an off craving that will not go away," she admitted and flashed a knowing smile. "I like to hunt because it makes me feel like I can fly. This day ahs been great, I'd like to stay like this forever," A blush crept up her cheeks and spread out throuhg her shoulders, she had so much to tell him, so much to admit.
She ploped down gracelessly beside Mvumo and leaned over nibbling his ear playfully. "And how is your day?"

"My day is brighter now that you've entered it," Mvumo said, comically trying to look up at Aadil while he was speaking. Of course, with the ear-nibbling, this was a tad difficult, and he soon gave up. "If you are still craving that bird, perhaps I can do my best to help you. We'd probably end up in a pile, having failed once more, but it is always worth a try."
Mvumo thought of all the things that had happened over the last week or so that they were in the Pridelands, and figured that trying to catch a bird would probably be the least wierd of his adventures.

"If you'd like to catcha bird, then we can. If not we can relax and cuddle," she was in either mood, being near Mvumo lessened the tauntness in her muscles but it also made her heart race. Being with him was like a hunt, she never knew the outcome.

Mvumo had to think about that one for a moment. Either choice was a good one, in his opinion. "...relaxing and cuddling is always a good thing." he said, with his trademark wide grin. "Let's do that for now, and later we can plan for the bird."
It was truly a perfect day. There weren't any stormclouds in sight, but Mvumo was still content. How could he not be?

"I met a female a few days ago, while I was hunting and she was so thin, and I saw her again and it's like the pridelands are magic, I feel connected to this lioness; her name is Nelu," her voice was soft and silky, content to laying in the grass. "I thought of her thinking about hunting, sorry for the random outburst, I do hope she is alright."
Aadil had a fondess for all new creatures she meets, except of cours for that crazy green and black maned wolf!
"Have you met her?" she spoke of the lioness.

"I do not think so," Mvumo said. "I saw a strange orange lioness at a watering hole, but hardly a word was spoken between us before she left. But I hope Nelu is alright. As you well know, I don't like seeing good lions go hungry," he explained, grinning as he thought about how they first met.
Mvumo had so many stories to share with Aadil in the future. He hoped he would be able to tell them to his children as well.

"I think my odd maned wolf could top a quiet lioness," she blushed again thinking of their first meeting, she was weak then and now was a lot stronger, in mind, body, and soul. "That maned wolf was crazy, she had the most peculier way of speaking, like answering with questinos, she was odd. Her name slips my mind it started with an S I believe," Aadil chuckled and thought back to the rainy night, it seemed she would have him for many more rainy nights to come.
"Who else have you seen as of late?"

Mvumo thought of the green and black maned wolf that he had thought was a hallucination at first. This was probably the exact same creature that Aadil had seen, but he decided to let her use the creature as a trump over his quiet lioness.
"A bird landed before me, chatting with me as if I wasn't a potential predator," Mvumo said. "And it started asking me crazy questions about seeing a lioness from the desert with a warm-colored pelt. I was afraid for a moment, because I thought she was talking about the Firekin being here of all places, but apparently it was just some random nameless lioness." He shrugged and shook his head.

"A bird! I would have spoken to her, and if she was not all that nice tried to eat her!" She chuckled, "What exactly is a firekin?" she ahd heard Mvumo say those words with hatred and a hint of remorse. She was told stories of red lions but for some reason Firekin was never mentioned. Should could sense the discomfort with that term inside the dark brown lion.

"The bird was friendly enough, though a bit strange," Mvumo said. "I told her I'd look for this nameless lioness in these lands." At the question, Mvumo frowned. "The Firekin are the pride that destroyed my family and kept me as a slave for some time," Mvumo said. "I barely escaped them with my life. They are a pride of red lions that live in the desert, leaving only to get new slaves. But do not worry; they cannot come after me. The ones who knew who I was are all dead now, if the plague rumors are true. And if they are not...I left them a message to show them I am not a lion to be messed with."

The brown lioness shivered involuntarily, seeing him say something like that was rather, well, creepy. She was used to the sweet softspoken Mvumo who said little and smiled a lot, but this braugth something new out from within him.
"I'll protect you," she chuckled, trying to lighten the mood, "Besides these lands as I have said before are almost magical!"
