I picked up The Wizard of London by Mercedes Lackey the other day... And truthfully, I wasn't that impressed. It's certainly not one of her better works, in my opinion. I think the main problem lies in it's format... The book reads more like a series of short stories than a novel. Actually, I'm pretty sure they were originally, due to some of the chapter beginnings. The flow is just interrupted in a way that would have been better if she just kept them as short stories... like her Tarma and Kethry books.
The other main issue I had was the title character being rather wimpy. I mean, he kind of had to be, in order for him to be controled like that, but still. I expected a bit more from the title character. I really think she should have focused it less on him and more on the school instead, since that's what the first half of the book does anyway. But that's just me...
Anyone else read it?

oh god.. I really need to get back into reading.. I've not read this book.. I'll check it out though.. because you never really know what to think of something unless you've done it/seen it/read it/been through it yourself.. so..
I'll make sure to keep my eye out for it <3

Yeah, it is a decent book, regardless, lol. I just don't think it was up to the standards that the author set for herself with some of her other books.

Speaking of her, Have you ever read If I Pay Thee Not In Gold? It's one of my favorites, But I do agree with your opinion of this book....It wasn't well thought out.
