It looks like this guild is off to a pretty good start, despite its lack of members. However, the latter part of the sentence seems to be the biggest problem.

Thus the solution: what's the greatest way of advertising on Gaia? Signatures.

Suggestions for signatures ( or reasons to be opposed to the idea ) should be posted here.

My suggestion is that the signature should be:

Simplistic
Not very large
Not flashy
Should have a good catch phrase
Should have both tux and the BSD daemon on it

Anything with "Fedora" on it gets the veto treatment by me...

I won't be associated with the XP of linux, thx...

I think we should stay away from ALL distro-specific tags on the guild signature, personally... And any larger than 440x60 would make me cry... I'm not a big fan of image sigs anyway, the only one I have being my random calvin and hobbes quote which has to be done as an image...

Suggestions of course going out to my personal favorite:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. just shrunk down a wee bit...

Then again I'm just an old fart compared to most of you, so my opinion will prolly end up redirected to /dev/null but at least I tried smile

hwy, my fedora tag isnt for the guild, its for my distro. mandrake is the xp of all distros, fedoras a few spots down there after red hat. ?at least in fedora you need the terminal to do normal things)

Anything that can be installed in less than 5 minutes of user intervention is XPLinux...

That takes care of Fedora, RedHat, Mandrake, and most of their spinoffs...

It's mostly the lack of customization they provide the user... I personally *hate* Red Hat's carte blanch partitioning tool - it's the best way to ******** up a linux partition scheme I've ever seen... who the hell came up with it needs to be shot... There's a proper way to partition a drive for a linux system and it won't even LET you do that...

Mandrake's isn't much better... But at least Red Hat gives you the option to use fdisk... Mandrake last I checked pretty much said you're SOL if you don't have it pre-partitioned...

HEY, i did a full custom install of fedora. its not saying much, but it did take about...say 20 minuits.i had to partition my drives, and so some custom package work. its pathetic, but what else can i do? mandrake?

I think the "Don't fear the penguins shrunk down would look really sharp.

I like the "Don't fear the penguins" one too, Its simple and to the point, and isn't distro-biased.
