Markus threw a baseball at the wall which came flying back at him. Deftly catching it he continued to test his reaction times until he heard the thumping of cats fighting above him.
"OI SHUT IT UP THERE" he yelled but obivously that wasn't going to do anything at all. he sighed, his drunken mother hadn't noticed and his father didn't live with them so he grabbed his baseball bat and walked out of the small apartment.

The corridor was dingy and smelt of alcohol and urine, walking quickly he went up stairs to the roof to find not cats but a two men fighting over a bag.
"hey what are you two doing?" Markus demanded holding his bat behind him. both men looked up in surprise and dropped the bag. one man pulled out a gun as a few slips of money fell out the bag.
"And whats that? whoa no need for the gun!" Markus backed away, straight into another man.
"Jerry, Mike! how did i know you would get into trouble. came just at the right time to." The man behind Markus pulled the bat away from him and held his arms behind him.
"Can you two do nothing right? now we have to take him with us!"
"What!!" Markus struggled but it was no use. he started to stamp his feet on the roof, surely someone would hear him and come up?

The man holding Markus nastily replied
"None of you business. Go back down stairs and don't say a word to any one. And then we can let you go." he had his hand over Markus' mouth and the other arm holding him to himself. The toher two grabbed the bag and hovered at the doorway in front of the girl awaiting orders from their apparant boss.
"Um, boss shall we deliver these to the car adn wait?"
"Yes, yes go. I can get this young man with us." He turned to the girl and lied through his teeth
"He is my son and has broken curfew. Quite violent, mentally impaired you know." he started dragging a kicking MArkus down the stairs to the awaiting car.

"little girl it would be best for you to simply go to back to your apartment and let me deal with my son on my own. "A particulary violent kick from Markus and slight grunt as the man was kicekd int he stomahc. They reached the ground floor and the man stuffed MArkus inside the car. MArkus managed a
"Call the police their stealing crap." ANd the door slammed.
"I bid you goodnight. you would do best not to tell any one about this lest you wsh to join the boy." He went to turn then changed his mind. "Actually its best if you come with us too, you saw too much." he grabbed the girl and stuffed her next to MArkus in the back. Burning rubber as they sped off through the dark streets.

"Ohn well. we are both neck deep in it now."
"Shut up both of you." a hand hi Markusround the head. he growled but said nothing.
"now what?"
"Shut up!"
It was long car ride till they left the town and entered another.
"Where are we?"
"Damn it shut up!" Both kids were dragged out of the car and into a large house.

Markus kicked out violently so he was forced to be carried by two men as he struggled away.
"Let me ******** go!" he shouted. they stuffed a rag in his mouth so his shouts were at least muffled and not quite as loud.
"Shut up!" another hit round the head. he wished he had just stayed in bed. He was thrown into the main room and the door was closed behind them all. ASsembled in that dark room a light flickered on dousing the room in flourscent light.
"Where is this?" he asked. "And stop hitting me!" He put his arms up to protect his head.

"not all of us are bad" Markus protested. he was picked up again and a needle sank into his arm. he gasped and let out a small whimper. he hated needles. he was about to protest loudly when he started feeling tired.
"Dont' let them needle you!" he choked out before he started feeling very dizzy adn lethargic. He sat on the floor feeling sick and so tired. Woosily he tried to stay awake but the man hit his head.
"Sleep you ******** you" he sighed before falling to the floor his head on the hard concrete floor. he barely moved when they picked him up and put him on the floor near an iron bed, a collar of rope was tied round his neck adn his hands bound behind him. he groaned then blacked out entirely.

Anika stared at the window in horror. She had just witnessed a kidnap and she had done nothing but stare in shock for the past few minutes, scared of what to do.

Should I just keep quiet? I barely know those two! Or maybe, call the police? But if those thugs find out who I am when they're in jail... suppose they come for me next! I don't even have the plate number!

She bit her nail, looking at the gun she had been keeping in her drawer. It was illegal, really, to be keeping a gun like that without license, but her overprotective father, captain of the police force in their town, forced it on her when she came to the city. "Should I..."

She shook her head. It was none of her business. But then, she couldn't just let those innocent people get hurt like that. She was really just her father's daughter that way.

Within minutes, she took off on a daring rescue, with nothing but a bullet proof vest (another gift of her father's), a gun, a bicycle, and a pounding heart.

"Dammit, I'm too nice."
