I'm going into training this week for pro wrestling. Although there is an acting side to it, there is still a huge sports part of it.

I do Shorin-Ryu Karate. It's a very traditional form from Okinawa that has been brought to Australia in the 1960's ('65 I think).

I've been doing it since I was 12, starting in juniors and reached the highest rank of 1st kyu at 17, then graded into seniors at the rank of 6th kyu and Friday night (1st September) I am grading for 4th kyu.

The style involes kumite (sparring/fighting), tuite (self defence), weaponry, ippon (counteractions to attacks is the best way I can think of describing it) and kata (patterns, kinda like a coreographed sequence of techniques).

Gradings also occur only once a year and that is only if the instructors believe you are ready for it. You may be lucky to skip a kyu rank, but that usually only occurs in the begginner levels of seniors and any ranks in juniors.

Just to let you know, did my grading and I am now 4th kyu. Didn't deserve it though. It was REALLY hot in the dojo and I couldn't focus properly, so I fought s**t and kept stuffing up my kata

There's not much for professional rugby in the U.S. It's mostly played in like gym class and stuff in grade school.

Mostly I'm into running. But I have recently discovered squash, and upon discovery found myself a partner for it too. It's so fun mrgreen .

I do Taekwondo as a member of the ATA, and I'm ranked at blue belt. Unfortunately, I have to take some time off as a result of some GI problems, but I hope to get back to it soon.

I used to play soccer, but it's pretty expensive, so I had to give up on that when I was about 11... crying I miss it...

I do weightlifting in school, and it's awesome. I also am a WWE wrestling fan, so I play "jump up and down on the bed in front of the tv cheering loudly when your favorite guy wins" really well, as well as "jump up and down on the bed swearing loudly when the bad guy cheats or beats up his opponent after the match". It's tough work being a fan, let me tell you... 4laugh

Mostly I just run....I'd love to do free running, but I'm trying to build up my speed and stamina before I make it harder on myself. sweatdrop
