I don't usually like to stereotype along gender lines... But this was such a girls' toy. Little animals with fuzzy felt skin and poseable limbs and clothes and little houses and furniture... Always had great fun making up shows. Aaaaah, yeah. Although why did they make it all so... Breakable? crying

I loved this stuff!!! heart
I didn't have much though; I had two little figures and that was it. While my friends had the big houses and everything xd I remember going to Bassinghams (remember that shop? Near the carpet shop?) and looking at all the sets after school whee 4laugh

I remember that shop! I used to do that too! We didn't have a house, but we did have (and still do) about 30 of the little animals. We used to use a miniature camping kit we got for Christmas one year as their house... Haha, they all lived in a tent, just like Tohru Honda. mad d

I adore Sylvanian Families! When I was little I played with those things until they were nearly in pieces. One day if I ever have enough money, I'm going to have to start a huge collection of those toys. They're simply wonderful! I think they're also sold in some areas as "Calico Critters" due to certain lisensing things over the years... And a lot of people confuse these for the Maple Town toys, but... Those a kinda' different in the face and the like. (ie. Sylvanian Families always have closed mouths, last I recall...)

I'd like to buy some as well, but they're rather pricey

Yeah, the price on some of those things... I had no idea when I was younger. Like the cottage I had... It was really expensive. Oh, but it was beautiful. If I ever do get the money, I will do it. I miss my Sylvanian Families toys! They can play with my boyfriend's Ghostbusters and Transformers stuff! (Which is also too cool for words!!)

Some of the new stuff they've released since I was a kid is sooooo cool! I'd love to set up, like, a whole village or something. That would be AWESOME!

I loved them too. I had the house, and I used to love changing the bedding and their clothes and everything. They even had little slippers. It was so cute.

Here (Utah, US) They were Calico Corners? Calico Critters? I don't know. I had a few from my aunt who didn't know I was such a tomboy... but I still loved them. I had a bunny family and some goose twin babies... and I want to say a pig kid?
