criticism versus love
(read mark 12:28-33)
As the family car swung away from the curb, little annie waved to Mrs. shrively, who was climbing her pourch steps. Sarah leaned forward and rested her arms on the back of the front seat. "whew!" i'm glad mrs. shrively is gone," sarah said. she was about to drive me crazy."
Her brother Rob agreed. "and she looks funny too."
"and her dress... there worse then bags! there tents"
"KIDS!" mom said, "you both know your not to talk like that! Mrs. shrively is a wounderful christian lady."
"but she bosses me around all the time,"said rob"and then she quotes bible scriputure to back it up! i wish she'd just leave me alone."
"she embarresses me in front of my friends," complianed sarah.
*dad joined in the conversation*
"but she is just the kind of personthe jesuswould have befriended. he loves everyone,including Mrs. shrively"
"and i doubt that jesus would make fun of her right?"sarah said
*dad nodded*
"but it sure will be hard not to make fun of her," said Rob
"i'm sure god will help you with that" said mom
"lets all ask god to help us," suggested dad "if we hold up one another in prayer, god will help us to do what is right"
how about you?
maybe theres some one you really have trouble liking-someone who dresses differently or acts stranglyor just bugs you. don't join the kids at school if they pick on one of your classmates. whenever your tempted to be critical, god loves that person just as much as he loves you
