Chapter 3:
Destroy…
Damien left out a soft growl as people looked at him with either contempt or fear as they walked toward Nadine’s place. He kept glancing at his brother to insure he wouldn’t be attacked if he looked away too long. Knowing his brother will kill him the first chance he had if he messed up, but then it dawned on him, he will die in this mission. There was no escaping death now. If he failed he was dead, if he succeeded he would be killed by the storming troops that will probably attack the Kishi. He will be killed before it was his time. For the fates take no pity on any of the creatures who wander through this world.
“So tell me Big brother, why did you come here?” His brother sneered as he lifted a delicate eyebrow upward.
“My name is Damien, call me by it or you will be missing your voice box.” Damien growled and flexed his hand, flashing his long claw-like fingers.
Ignatius yawned slightly, acting non-impressed as he looked on in anger. “Tell me Damien why are you here?”
“He is here because you came to us a while ago. I bet the Kishi sent him to spy.” Said a soft voice from behind them.
They all turned around and saw a child-like figure standing there. Wearing a pure white dress with long maroon-colored hair with golden eyes.
“Who are you, child?” Nadine snapped. Her lavender brow rose upward as she moved toward the girl.
“I am Anila Emsley.”
“How do you know what He is planning, if he is?” Kaamil questioned, moving closer to the smiling girl.
“When the Planet smiles, heed the shadow of doubt and allow all to pass into shadows as the light fails us all.” Anila smiled wider and slowly turned away.
“Wait!” Damien yelled, grabbing unto the slender arm of Anila. “Why does it sound familiar? Why is it making me feel so secure?”
“Tell me Crevan, how is it that you exist with the blood of a Kishi running freely through your veins? No one since the Crevan left has been born with the blood in them. So tell me, why do you exist?” Anila smiled before placing a hand on Damien’s cheek. “Damien Pyralis, when this world ends and is reborn, allow nothing to get in your way or everything will be doomed. Allow only the sweetness of death follow you and it will guide you like the wind guides me. Remember: When the planet smiles, heed the shadow of doubt and allow all to pass into the shadows as the light fails us all.”
Anila smiled one last time before a breeze erupted from nowhere, sweeping Anila off into the distant. Leaving a stunned Damien in its wake.
“What did she tell you, DAMIEN?” Ignatius growled, grabbing Damien cloak.
“Go away Ignatius, before I decide you aren’t worth the time of day.”
“Both of you shut up!” Nadine yelled as she stormed between them, glaring. “We have no time to argue about what a mere child said, what we need to worry about is why Damien is here. Wouldn’t you agree?”
“I will tell you why I am here…”
“Really then what is it?” Nadine looked curiously at Damien.
“All in good time, I shall tell you the reason I have came back here after all these years.” Damien grinned slightly and walked past them all toward the closest end he could find. He checked in and made his way to his room, ignoring everyone around him as he slipped into his bed and into the dark world of slumber…
Damien felt a soft hand touch his brow, as he leaned into the touch. Soon he felt a pair of lips touching his temples.
“Damien awake now.” A voice commanded as Damien opened his eyes and saw a pair of emerald ones staring intensely as him.
“Who are you?” Damien growled as he jumped upward. Away from the stranger who occupied his room.
“The name is Kaushal Yazid at your service.” Kaushal bowed and grinned. “Actually it will be the other way around you are at my service.”
Damien growled, “I am no ones servant.”
“Only in your mind you may think this. But you are Jacques Fidal servant. He called to you and you answered him. But this is all beside the point of me being here. Damien, you must destroy Quasim before they wipe out everything here. The gods command it.”
“If there are gods, I don’t believe in them. They have long abandoned me.”
“Damien you were not supposed to be here. Yet, you are and the Gods think we should use you. Hope you don’t mind.” Kaushal winked before grinning wider. “Damien, Love, be a good boy and do this for us. Or else, I fear, I will have to do something I will dread for the rest of my immortal life.”
“You gods don’t even care about anyone who roams this planet. So why must you interfere?”
“Quasim is finding things out that no one is suppose to know. Nadine Zahur is the one who will bring the downfall to this order that was created since before anyone was thought of. So Damien, be a hero and protect your gods. Maybe we will give you a present.” Kaushal purred as he glanced at Damien’s naked torso.
Damien growled and threw his shirt on as he stormed toward Kaushal. “I will not fight for anyone. This world holds no value to me.”
“Then explain to me why you are here for Celeste?”
“I am not ready to say goodbye.”
“So you fear Celeste that much? Considering you are stronger. She must have Jacques using his body to tempt you till your purpose is done to them. Its ironic, the man who holds your heart is the one who will destroy you. My kind of love.” Kaushal threw back his head and laughed. “I adore you mortal sense of life and love. It amuses me to no end.”
“Shut up! Just shut up.” Damien charged at the god, wrapping his hands around the pale throat.
“Try to kill me, go ahead I dare you to try. I won’t die. Just do as we ask Damien, and you will know everything we can tell you. You can use it against Celeste and rule the Kishi and Crevan without ever being challenged. Destroy Quasim, Damien Pyralis.” Kaushal smiled and winked before he vanished into thin air. Leaving only the faint aroma of power behind…
