Original thread by jroseemi.

Since we're all obviously HP fans, then where is everyone from? What country? (or state of province if you wish). So what version of Harry Potter did you read? Sorcerer or Philosopher? xd

EDIT: For those that don't know the differences, apparently there are more than just vocab changes. Things like sweater and jumper are reversed and other British terms substituted for American ones. Apparently, there are also more mistakes in the American ones. Try this link to Mugglenetfor a list of all the mistakes (from both versions).

So, I guess I read Sorceror ((sp?)).

Is there really a big difference or is it just the one word?

They just change certain words that aren't commonly used in the US, and the spelling of some words.

I'm in Sydney, Australia - so I read Philosopher's Stone.

I heard there were alot of little differences in the American version, like "jumpers" being called "sweaters" instead, that sort of thing.
