I know some of you may think this is silly.. but I was just pondering upon Sailor Moon and her name, Usagi Tsukino, and I glanced at the lyrics to a Gackt song called Tsuki no Uta which means Moon Ballad or thereabouts and I went :gasp: her names means 'of the moon'!! Does anyone know what some of the other last names mean? Or care to share an experience where they realized the actual meaning of a SM character name? (or have anything to say about how I'm wrong which I very well could be.. sweatdrop )

I do know that Tsukino Usagi means "Rabbit of the moon" Muzino Ami "Friend of Water" Hino Rei " Spirit of Fire" I don't know about Minako and Makoto though. I do know that Makoto means "Truth" and for Minako her last name, Aino means "of love."

I knew what Usagi's last name meant, but I didn't know what any of the others meant. I guess if you think about it though, it's pretty obvious. -.-;

Aino Minako means Child of Love or something like that.
Meiohsei is the japanese name for the planet Pluto
KaiohSei is the japanese name for the planet Neptune
TenohSei is the japanese name for the planet Uranus
Michiru Kaioh means Maturing Sea God
Haruka Tenoh means Distant Sky God
Im not sure exactly what Setsuna means and I think we can assume what Meioh means but remember the creator swtiched the two gods of Pluto and Saturn. Saturn in greek mythology is the time god... but I don't know about japanese mythology as per that.
Hotaru mean's firefly I THINK Im not sure what her last name means some people have told me it means Emerging Firefly or Sparking Firefly but Ive not confirmed this myself?

The[Princess] I knew what Usagi's last name meant, but I didn't know what any of the others meant. I guess if you think about it though, it's pretty obvious. -.-; yeah serious lol sweatdrop
