((The events recorded in this room happen after Malazar's brief encounter with Mystina and before his... encounter 3nodding with Kara until noted.))

The Great Library of the Shield that Defends the Center of the Heartland is a massive structure spread across 2,668 square miles and occupies what would be Maine and part of Canada on our Earth. Within it are somewhere between 45 and 80 million tomes, the last accurate count was over one hundred and twenty four years labeling the the number at 48,532,116. This feat was accomplished by a man named Rahvin Melar Tssonna and it took him sixty one years, three months, and 27 days. Within a week of his "accurate" count Rahvin found a complete set of Children's Bible Stories stored quite plainly in the Children's section that he had never seen before that had not come in in that week. He promptly killed himself but still, his count is considered the most accurate ever conducted. Since then there have been seven fires, five of which are suspected to be the work of arsonists and one of which was caused by an over zealous fly-swatter next to a candle. The library has a strict check-in check-out policy, but still the flow of books is nearly impossible to track. Contrary to what one would think, people taking the books contribute in the least amount to the the flux inside the Library. The sheer amount of knowledge, a large (though not a majority) amount of which is magical, others which have no real classification beyond that of "books" have created a sort of nexus for knowledge, similar to what humans experience but only for the written word; though even that is a general classification. As for access, anyone is allowed within the Library. What shocks many in the Heartland is that anyone means anyone, including beings from the other five major Spheres. While the general consencise is that no violence shall be committed within the library, it has hosted innummerable fights, skirmishes, a handful of armed conflicts and two fullscale wars; none of which were fought over the actual possession of the Library. Of the people that have visited the Library, 63 have seen larger collections. 20 of these have been to the Library Plane of Informatmethitria. 42 have been to the Tower of Dust on the 8th layer of Hell. (It is a widely known fact that Heaven's Library is merely half the size of the Library in Heartland which is almost as large as Hell's. All that book-banning and papal denial and such.) Only one person whom has visited the Library has been to a larger library than these three, a man who also is a patron of the Library in Heartland. Unfortunately for the man, none of these vast archives contains direct knowledge of what he needs.

In a well lit private section of the Library, surrounded by circular walls of books and spanning staircases, Malazar sneezes and rubs at his nose.
