Welcome to The Cure Thread, for those who love The Cure. Say what albums you have, what your favorite songs are, and anything else related to The Cure.

I own Disintegration, Pornography, Bloodflowers, Boys Don't Cry, Faith, Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me, The Head On The Door, Show(live), Concert(live), Join The Dots(box set), The Cure(new CD), Trillogy(DVD), and Greatest Hits(DVD).

Oh, and sorry if you need permission to make official threads, I don't know if I do or not (edit: you do)

The original line-up of the band, then known as Easy Cure, came together at school in Crawley, a brash post-war new town tacked onto a sleepy village in the heart of the rolling green downland of Southern England. Robert Smith was the much-loved child of a happy family but, even then, his imagination was being fired by deeper, darker things. "I had been reading books, books that maybe I shouldn't have been reading, books that hinted at despair and disintegration..."
Although Easy Cure had started out very much as a punk band, by the time they simplified the name to The Cure, Smith's increasing fascination with dark and weighty subject matter was matched by his ability to channel those ideas into passionately evocative songs that set Three Imaginary Boys apart from the typical punk albums of the era. The power and the energy were punk-inspired, but the songs were from somewhere else entirely ? the subterranean nether world of Robert Smith's unique imaginings.

The Cure! I love them so....Sadly, the only album that I have is the greatest hits. (But it's never enough.) I must own the dvd. It's on the list...Of course, there's no money to get anything that's on the list...I could always sell my plasma...I'd sell my plasma for the Cure. The music's so wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully, wonderfully pretty....

I hate Blink 182, but they did a decent cover of Letter To Elise, and AFI's Just Like Heaven was ******** awesome. Why didn't they show it here in America?

I love their new CD... it's the only one I have of them. My mom has the greatest hits though, and I grew up listening to them, so I know a lot of their songs by heart without meaning to. "Monday" is my favorite song.

I love their songs but own no cds... yet... as I have just recently been able to afford cds, but alternative awesome stuff is hard to find where I am at the moment (China), and thus I've been buying more Radiohead than the Cure... but they're on the list! biggrin
