カート KuRt (Kaato)

Biography
KuRt was formed in November 2004, but the band officially started on December 31st, 2004.
At this point, the band consisted of:
Tenten on vocals (ex. Hanamuke)
Ryoki on lead guitar (ex. Cradle Marry, Visage)
Yuma on rhythm guitar (ex. Hanamuke)
Ranmaru on bass (ex. Misora)
and Kiaki on drums (ex. Misora).
They had some secret performances in December 2004 at the Takadanobaba AREA at some events. On their performance on December 31st, they finally announced the official start for KuRt.
In January 2005 they had several performances. One of them was organized by KuRt themselves and took place on January 15th at the Takadanobaba AREA again.
Their first release came quickly, and it showed the talent of these 5 experienced musicians.
The maxi-single “Oritamishiki Ojiichan“ was released on January 21st. It contained 3 tracks and was limited to 2000 copies. It sold out fairly quickly.
At the end of January they performed, once again, secretly at the Harajuku RUIDO.
Around this time, Ranmaru decided to change his name to Oto.
With the February issue of the Japanese Visual Kei and JRock magazine Shoxx came their single “Saraba BAMBI” , but it was a mail order-only release, so this single is quite a rare item that was only available in Japan.
On March, 27th KuRt had their first one-man, called “Kihibikiiyako 3 Hiki ~Sendai Hen~”, which took place at the Sendai MACANA. A few days later their second one-man followed. At this second one-man show they sold their first video, “Gozen 3Ji Hoshi Furu Yoru”, simply named like a track off their upcoming album. This video contained the PV to this song.
You could see that KuRt was working hard on their success, and that surely wasn’t in vain. Being obviously active, it wasn’t a very big surprise that their first album went on sale so soon, although it was a surprise, that it was a full album.
Anyhow, “Junketsu sengishiri metsuretsu” was released April 1st and contained 7 tracks. The first press contained a little extra item as a bonus. This album stayed for weeks in the top rankings of BRAND-X selling charts.
Around this time, the omnibus album “SHOCK WAVE CD Edition. 5” was released. On this CD was one track by KuRt called “suppuration”. Suppuration wasn’t released on any other CD of theirs, so it is an omnibus only track.
May began for KuRt with another self-organized event at the Takadanobaba AREA.
After that they participated at the SPEED DISK shinranbanshou Tour ’05 , a big tour organized by SPEED DISK, the label of KuRt, which ended at the end of this month.
Although they were busy with this tour, they had a two-man together with Fatima. If you take a look at the biography of Hanamuke, Tenten and Yuma’s former band, you can see that these two have already been acquainted with the members of Fatima for some years as they performed fairly often with them, back when they belonged to Hanamuke.
On May 21st, their first DVD was sold, in two different versions, both limited to 1000 copies. "Neo Tokyo Rinkai Chokutsu Ressha Eizo Hen” was KuRt’s first live DVD, a recording of their second one-man show.
In June, KuRt participated in another tour, the Cannonball vol. 2 tour 2005. This tour included several performances from great Indies band in Japan, which ended with a big gig on June 24th at the Shibuya O-EAST. In relation to this tour, an omnibus album with the same name was released on June 22nd, where KuRt also contributed one track. After this they performed at three events, arranged by one of the most famous Visual Kei and JRock shops in Japan: LIKE AN EDISON.
On the June 30th, KuRt were also guests of the 8th anniversary event of the Takadanobaba AREA.
On July 19th and 20th, the band had two one-man shows in a row, both at the Shibuya O-EAST. During these two concerts they did a presale of their two new maxi-singles Akamono and Igamukuro. These maxis went on sale on July 27th.

It's said that he's born in 1981, so he's 25 nowadays.
Tenten obviously has a good connection to his family, what's nice to see because often enough Japanese parents don't like to see their kids joining the music scense. Forthermore Tenten has a little sister and a pet, a reptil called Potyomkin.
Tenten comes from Sendai area, where he went to school with Yomi (Nightmare's Vocalist) - since that time both of the guys are friends. [It's even said both dropped out of school for joining Jonny's Entertainment (a Japanese Pop-Entertainment)].
In Sendai he founded along with his friend Tsubaki the Band Hanamuke. Before they moved to Tokyo they were pretty active in Sendai's AREA, for what they were called "Sendai bando" (aka. Sendai Band) back then. Tenten has been Hanamuke's bandleader, but he used to say his position would be "Crybaby". Before the last live of Hanamuke, which disbanded because of these oh so beloved "musical differences", Tenten had an accident where he broke his right arm. Though he participated in this last gig, even wounded.
Tenten has lots of friendships with other band-guys. For example he likes to call Vidoll's vocalist Jui Onii-chan (big brother), the same goes for Tsubaki (ex. Hanamuke) and so he calls Yuma "Oyaji", what is actually used for men in the age of 55+. Furthermore he adores Shulla (who just disbanded in November 2005).
He appears as an very dreamy and loving person, demanding lots of love as well. He keeps whishing for love, a girlfriend and the like. Anyways, he shows a lot of love to his fans, telling as often as he can how much he loves them, might it be in intervews, in his diary and anything alike. During lives he likes to ask his fans to touch him and he obviously enjoys being touched. Yuma once considered him as "the person who never forgets the feeling of childhood".
In fact Tenten is very emotionally. He directly says how he feels and, what's very unusal for Japanese, he even admits bad moods and the like. His physical condition is very bad, he often complains about headaches, pain everywhere in his body and general sickness.
By the way... the Kanji version of his name means, translated "little by little".
Left the band on December 24, 2006

Weak point: Women
Yuma was born in Yamagata-ken, what's not really afar from Sendai. There isn't much know about his familiy but he sometimes talk about his sister hin his diary entries.
In fact, Yuma is obviously very shy and doesn speak a lot about himself, especially not when he's recorded for TV. During lives he is VERY focused on his music (I have to tell, I hardly saw someone who played soli SO clearly!) but likes to exchanges quick glances and gestures with his fans. He said by himself, that he doesn't talk much on stage. But when it comes to stage-diving he's no the one who says "No". He's spending a lot of power on his performances, what's the reason why he's often very exhausted.
Anyways, Yuma seems to be very focused on the music. He's the one who composes most of the songs for KuRt and he also cares about the studio-editing etc. He says by himself, he loves his guitar a lot.
He loves, writing random stuff in his diary, so you get to know, that he loves to try new stylings, he likes Gothic Lolitas (he even claims to have a Lolita-Complex) and maiden, music stores and comedy shows on TV.
After his time in Hanamuke, he changes the writing of his name slightly, what didn't change it anyways.
Since ages Yuma enjoys Karaoke, back in Hanamuke as well as nowadays in KuRt. Though, regarding the video tape from Hanamuke, his singing skills are... wonderful for Karaoke, but no good for stage performances.
Name: Ryouki 伶希Position: Guitar

Blood type: AB
Favorite Food: Sushi
Hated Food: nothing
Cigarettes: Malboro Menthol Lights

Piercing count: 6 so far (gauge: 2, 4, 16)
Perfume: Scalp CHA
Spends his holidays with: Dislocation
Sake: Umeishu (Sake with plums)
Weak point: KuRt
Before joining KuRt, Ryoki already played in two other bands. Crad le Marry and Visage. He would have stayed longer with these bands but Crad le Marry disbanded quite quickly because of "musical differences" and Visage disbanded after their bassist died in an car accident. Anyways, Ryoki is still friends with the people from Visage, what was pretty visable at the "Visage Revival Performance" in which he participated.
Ryoki changed the writing of his names everytime after joining another band (to say, three times).
Music-wise, Ryoki is the other geniue composing songs. He started considerably late contributing songs to the discography of KuRt. His first song was "0°C" from the Akashiya/HizumuKuRo double release. This piece just showed, that he's also very talented when it comes to music composition and his fans are still waiting to hear more songs written by him.
Ryoki is a friend of animals. He has a cat called Chobi and an hamster called Koro Sho. 98% of his diary entries contain a picture of Chobi or anything related to his cat - he loves Chobi A LOT.
Ryoki is very served, in interviews as well as on stage. He's rather quiet and keeps at the back of the stage, hardly saying anything. He rather doesn't do any stage-diving, but if he does he apologizes a lot afterwards. But what he likes to do on stage is his remarkable "Nya"-noises for the backvocals ("Nya" is usually a noise for cats in Japan).
Even he's very reserved on stage and in interviews, he can be very childish and out-going when he's alone with his bandmates or during instore events.
Ryoki plays lottery in his free time [Very random fact]. He generally likes food, especially sweets (what you don't really see for he's very slim). He's often talking about cultural stuff in his diary when they're touring, he enjoys discovering culuture a lot.

He was together with Kiaki in Misora before he joined KuRt. Back then he still used his real name "Ranmaru", what he changed after the activity start of KuRt.
Considerably, Oto is the most cheerful guy in the band. He has a quite cute way to speak and uses A LOT of smilys in his diary entries. He likes the word "Muuuu", what pretty significant for Japanese but has no deeper meaning.

His full name is Akiyama Kiaki, he used it back in his Misora time.
Kiaki is one of the most talkative guys of the band. He was along with Oto in "Misora" before both of them joined KuRt. Misora didn't make it any longer than about one year.
He interacts a lot with the fans and other bandmembers. He's very friendly and polite and cares a lot for the people around him and especially for his fans. He always enjoys reciving presents, for example drawings and the like.
