It may have been a trick of the sun, a wanderer might think, when he glanced over the impossibly large wheat fields and rice crops and saw one lone harvester throw a scythe, and land right at the end of the field and have it reap row after row after row. The watcher would then see the harvester run close to the ground, picking the grains hour after hour tirelessly, filling many sacks at once.
Karrobher, or "Kar" for his friends, was very proud of the charge he had: taking care of the fields, vegetable patches and plantations and other food supplies for the School Kitchen. "You are what you eat" he once heard, and ever since then, he had grown his own meals to be the best and most invigoring, so he took special care when growing wheats and rice for the Ramen he loved so much.
He enjoyed his work for other reasons, too. It required great strength and stamina to look after an entire field and reap it all at once so he, always looking for improving his training, viewed it as a kind of trial of skill and endurance. The only downside was that it was kind of boring, having hardly ever any company and having no time to talk even when someone else volunteered to help and/or people got punished with... well, helping out in the fields.
It was fun to watch the borders of the field at night for the animals and monsters and a thief or two (like the times a group of kids would try and sneak in to steal his watermelons) who were after the fruits and crops, though, and he would scare them away or plain fight them.
One morning, Kar found intrussion marks in all the fields and stood that same night to watch on a makeshift tower to find out the culprit but saw nothing and, in the morning, the fields showed they were being intruded into; perplexed and worried about the food reserves, Karl nailed the following message on places everyone would notice: "Crops are being pilfered Join me in the Field Night Watch Contact Karrobher (either at the Kitchen or personally) Help me protect your next meals!"
And hoped things turned out okay...

Looking at the marks on the ground, Kar wasn't certain what or who it was that was stealing the fruits and crops; little by little but with no sign of it stopping or even lessening, the kitchen storage would end up getting empty and then... no... it was too horrible to even think of so he focused on the tracks.
They seemed to appear some way away from the main wall and, some how try and cover after its tracks but only managed to blur them on the ground, they would disappear before getting to the fields and only show randomly in places where the wheat and the rice had both been cut as with a tool or plain gnawed.
kar figured that it was either a very good thief very cleverly confusing the investigation, or a group, maybe of humans and animals or monsters, or even shapeshifters, each member stealing away as best they could yet without bothering to really cover after their clues completely....
If only more would come to help take watch.... and catch him or her, or it, or them... redhanded

All Kar could do at the moment was fix the fields where the crops had been damaged and summon a Ceres spriteling to help the seeds grow at faster pace, something he wouldn't normally do, knowing that things that took longer to grow tasted better, but he had his hands tied behind his back. Next he tried to set up a sort of web of very small bells in random areas in the fields, he'd just have to wait and see if any thief would trigger them during night watch.

Last night it had been the same.... no noise, nothing triggering the alarms.... and yet the plowing and the stealing went on undetected....
There had been only one time when the strings' bells had rung, and it had been a heavy falling leaf from a nearby almond tree... Of course, Kar had kept the leaf under surveillance for quite a while, just to check if it hadn't been a disguise or something....
So far, nothing..... but maybe ... just maybe... he'd be lucky once, tonight...

after building another sturdy watch tower, Kar took a huge basket of freshly baked donuts and carried it, along with an enormous jug of fireclay pottery: Vigilance Coffee "okay, looters, I'll be waiting for you now....."

"Gah!" exclaim scream , said a startled Kar. "Don't do that! I've got my attention so focused in so many places, I'm actually a sitting duck from up close!" But he was relieved, because he would't be watching alone and maybe, just maybe he could get some of the outlandish granaries filled by next week.
"so, came to help old Kar, didn'tcha?"

(I think I'll join you two if you dont mind) Shade was walking up to the school when he saw some people in a tower in the garden."Hm. I think I'll introduce myself." Shade jumps up into the air and instead of landing on the ground he goes through it and pops out behind the girl. " It is not a wise idea to scare people, and it also isn't a good idea to yell. It tells people were you are."

(Honestly very thankful of you to drop by *sighs in relief*) "Gah!", Kar cried and instantly realizes this is a student and that it was really no behavior for a Stalwart Guardian... " sweatdrop er... you were very lucky that I realized you were just a student of the school coming to help before I hit you even while in the midst of my battle cry... er.... which is "GAAAAHHYAAAAA!!!" um... "
The wind blowing far and wide is all that is heard after such a blatant lie.....
( sweatdrop Yeah, even if this is a "fighting/mystery RP" I like humour so... let's have fun! 3nodding )
