As referred to in the "Rules; VERY Important, a MUST READ!" forum, this is a place for people who don't want to have a forum all to themselves, perhaps those who just want to share a random picture or two with everyone else, without making a big fuss over it. Where they can post their informal art, comment on such art, and ect. This is also a place where discussion on art types and artists, genres, series, comics, animes, mangas, doujinshis, and anything related to the artistic community may take place. So this area will be basically an art chat.
Please have fun here and follow the usual sensible rules.

Tell me you guys, what do you think?

sweatdrop I'm aware that a lot of my artwork is pretty shoddy, and comes off unclean and grainy, but it's stuff that was thrown together very quickly in microsoft paint, I'll share with you one of the ones I was creating for a favorite roleplay character of mine, a cat deamon called 'Nanaoi';

For this picture I used up several hour about a year ago, in corel photo paint, I actually think it was going rather well, unfourtunately I got shut down early on it, because we got the progam I was using unistalled before I could finish. Do you lot think I have some potential when I really put some work into it?

Well that was huge. mrgreen
In any case, As for a bit of an art discussion to kicl us off, my friend thinks that Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the original 'Naruto' manga, was not very good at drawing the feminine frame, and, for lack of a less suggestive term, 'womanly bodies'. Although I don't doubt my friend was horomone striken at the time he said this, it made me wonder if other people felt this way. I, myself, have allways found the style of the naruto manga to have a cute look to it, not entirely fluffy, but the children have a sheepish, yet sly look about them, and the adults look so realistic it's hard to believe that both ages are drawn by the same person. I allways thought that the gurls, with the except of Temari, with her burly frame, all had amazing female features about them.
And please gawd, let's get this out of the way now, Tsunade's got a bust like Cindy Margot, can we move on?
Lol, but still, I'd love your guys opinion.
Naruto chicks, good as they are, or not quite gurly enough?

I think they're fine. Temari doesnt have that 'burly' of a frame, they're a bunch of preteens so their figure isnt quite shaped yet. WHICH, by the way, im glad they dont. You ever notice some children in mangas already have boobs when they're like, 2? or they look completely like dudes because they dont have boobs? Its quite irritating. A girl doesnt have to have breasts look feminine!

That I can really agree with. I admit, a little up front is a nice balnacer-outer for a femme, not too shabby. wink But it isn't a must. And I made a mistake with the Temari thing, only in the anime does her body seem a little square jawed, shoulder, and thicked legged at times, in the manga she's adorable.
She's my favorite character, don't you know? Right up there with Gaara, Kisame, and Naruto himself!
So glad to see you're the first one other than I to post here Teri, lord knows you deserve it for coming up with the idea, now then, if you want me to create you a forum in this subforum for you to host you art in, just say the word and she's all yours. smile

Wow, I bet you so get some of your drawing style idea, mostly the eyes, from the most popular [and cheap] "how to draw manga" book of all time. Miss Katy Coope. I used to have that book, but when I realised I was way past it, I gave it to my friend and got a bit more into the Chistopher Hart thick books.
I know you guys think I'm laying on my skills a bit higher than deserved, but you lot have mostly just seen my microsoft paint stuff. I assure you my skills with a pencil cannot be matched.
Also, DarkSlaine, I like your pictures, they give off a "Yu-Gi-Oh" vibe to me.

XD I once had writers block while writing one of my books because I couldnt think of my new characters name. I wanted it to be long with the shortned name of Lemair. So I took every last four or three letters of things written on the front cover of one of Christopher Hart's 'how to' books.
The boys name ended up being Lemairnesphermicsart.
Lemair- nes(Japanese)- pher(christopher)- mics(comics)- art(Hart)
Needless to say I was amused by it so I kept it. *nod nod* whee

Reminds me of a name I once came up for one of my characters, Maeeinedaenaye.
I only used it because I was bored, but it's not as big as yours.
Of course, none of us will every hold a candle to JhonJacobJingleHimerShmitt.

Oh yeah, Kiba is so totally hot, him and Gaara are, like, my two favourite naruto guys.
Although I’m not really sure what the previous comment had to do with the drawing style femininity of the naruto gurls. But whatever.
For the rookie 9 boys and the sandsquad, my favorites, on a scale of hotness, starting with the highest it would be Gaara, Kiba, Neji, Shino, Sasuke, Naruto, Kankuro, Chouji, and Lee. Because Lee is a fug.
Sorry Lee fans.

I'ma guy and I'll say Lee is ugly. Teri hates him because of his 'Catterpillar brows', makes me laugh everytime she goes on a rant about them.

The brows aren't so bad for me, I coyld look them over if the hair wasn't so slick and shiney. It's all coconut-y and it's really shows off his brows. His eyes aren't THAT bad, and his sense of style reeks. Green spandex and orange leg warmers?
Why does he need to mimic Gai sensai's style? Not only is Gai a fug, but you should do your own style, not mimic someone elses.
