Guess what! There's a lake at Windsor Academy! You already knew? oh....well anyway it's a pretty big lake. I'm not sure but I think it wasn't here first. It's rectangular and east of the main path that leads to the castle. It's pretty cold, like any lake, and lies parallel to the training fields. I can't describe it very well so why don't you take a look for yourself and tell me what you think of it. (I'll add anyone elses descriptions to this main post.)

Mackenzie arrived on the east bank of the lake and just collapsed into a nervous heap. She wasn't bawling. Not yet. For now she just shook as her breaths came hard and her eyes betrayed her with tears. She didn't care. She kept telling herself that. Yeah she was blind, and since she couldn't do anything about it she kept telling herself it didn't matter, and she didn't care. Forget it. she told herself, pulling her knees up to her chest and rocking back and forth. One arm wrapped around her legs and the other diverting the water on her face. It doesn't matter. The sun will set tonight and you won't see it. The sun will come back up tomorrow morning and you'll miss it, even if you sit here all the way through till dawn.
She wasn't crying anymore and her breathing had slowed and evened down until hyperventilation didn't threaten anymore. She just sat there for a while, eventually crawling down to where the lake met the water and cupping some she cleaned away her face. Just because she couldn't see didn't mean she didn't know how bad she looked after she cried. For awhile afterwards she just sat there. Homework, class supplies and dinner were things she'd think about but for now....now she just did a much better job of clearing her mind than she had while meditating.

Pell walked out of the classroom and to the far side of the lake where there was enough shade that he could take off his hat safely. On his way there he thought he heard something. Is that ... crying? Oh well, it's none of my business. Especially since I don't even know anyone here yet.He preferred to stay out of anyones business just as a fact of how he was raised so he simply sat in the shade of a large tree by the lakes edge. He sighed deeply and ran his hands through his hair, looking at the sun through the leaves. His next class wouldn't be for a while so he simply decided to sit down and try to take in some of his new surroundings. ((This comes from over there. Fire Elemental Class))

Pell slowly rose from where he had been sitting. He had enjoyed enough relaxation and needed to get to somewhere more indoors. After a while his clothing tended to get a little hot and stuffy. He calmly walked away from the lake and towards his dormatory. ((ooc - Contiues over here! Marina Commons))

After her students had left class, Alsiria let the flames in the cauldron and braziers die away. She closed the doors and locked the room up, and then hurried to her other classroom, the room for Beastology, where she sat down at her desk and started to read through one of the books she had brought with her, still trying to decide which creature she would teach about first.
About an hour had passed, and Alsiria was now locking the doors to her Beastology class and making way out of the V.A.L. building, towards the lake. What a lovely sight 'twas! The waters were calm, tranquil, and all of nature seemed to be at peace with the world. One of her students, the blind girl, was sitting near the lake.
"Poor dear...looks a little lonely. I think I'll go speak with her; that way we can both get to know each other a little better. That would be quite helpful."
Indeed. Getting to know each of her students on a more personal level was something Alsiria desired. In doing so, she would learn their flaws and strengths, and it would help her make them feel more comfortable. Her boots slid across the damp, grassy grounds as she continued forward.
Her lips folded into a small smile as she grew closer to the girl. About two feet away, she stopped, and spoke, voice soft...soothing...warm, "Well, hello there dear."

Mackenzie heard someone approaching and turned to face them. She smelled a bit of ash but along with that came a much warmer smell, as of warmth and fur. It had to be the fire teacher, but somehow she didn't smell so much of burning. There was something else there that smelled so much more inviting. "Hello Professor." She responded smiling and sitting up upon her knees.

Mathew had just arrived at the new school he was to teach in, and already was relaxing on the side of the lake near the practice field. His class wasn't scheduled for a while yet, and he had a demonstration in mind so he was in a deep meditation. Swirling around him could be seen the occasional whisps of what seemed to be white smoke but it was just excess power leaking off of him, or that was the easiest was to describe it.
He floated deep in personal thought, going through his checklist. Well ... I'm here and it seems to be rather pleasent. Someone took my things to my room when I arrived, but I still haven't checked my class roster. Oh well, I guess that just makes the class more surprising for everybody. I guess all that's left is to wait to open my class, or wait for somebody to poke me in the eye and tell me to open it. He mentally chuckled to himself.

Alsiria took a seat on the ground beside Mackenzie as the girl greeted her, and smiled back, "Mackenzie I believe, yes?"
She turned her head to stare into the girl's blind eyes, smile remaining, aura gentle, warming, and soothing as usual, "Does something trouble you my dear? Your face shows signs of past tears...do you need to talk about anything?"
Professor Develuni wanted to make the girl feel a bit more comfortable. She wanted her students to trust her, and feel safe around her, giving them the ability to speak to her about any of their needs, any time. And so she waited for a response from the girl.

Mackenzie nodded politely in acknowledgment of her name, but when the teacher mentioned her appearance and its relation to her recent melencholy she flinched and wondered if the slight warmth she was feeling was the afternoon sun or if she was blushing. "Is it that obvious? I- I tried to clean up." She turned away slightly and took a few deep breaths to keep herself calm. "It's nothing really, I just..." she took another deep breath. "Teenage hormones I guess." She put on a smile and forced herself to keep her voice light. If she thought too hard about what had caused the breakdown she'd only cry again. In front of a stranger, and someone she hardly knew, that wasn't acceptable.
Not being willing to break down in front of someone didn't mean she would be rude. "Thank you for your concern, but I'm really all right." She stood and brushed herself off, mentally wincing at the sand that stubbornly clung to her feet. That was going to irritate her for the rest of the day.

As she listened to the girl talk, Alsiria nodded very lightly. Still, something was wrong, and Alsiria had a feeling 'twas a little more than just hormones. Nonetheless, she didn't trouble the girl with it any longer; obviously she was uncomfortable about it, whatever 'twas, and pushing the issue could possibly cause her to break down, or moreso, get angry...
Miss Develuni stood up a little after Mackenzie had, and smiled, "Well, if you need anything, remember that there are people here, for you."
She paused for a moment, reflecting on what had happened in her class, then smiled and continued, "I believe 'twas you that stated that you would need help with meditation, yes?"
Again, she paused, as if checking herself, for one reason or another, before continuing, "If that is the case, I will do what I can to help you. Is it possible for you to perhaps come to my elemental magic class on days without classes? That would give us plenty of time to work together, and you would probably learn more than just meditation as well. Would you like that dear?"
Hopefully the girl would take her offer. If she did not, well, there was always time after class, right? She wanted to see all of her students succeed and have a good life. Meditation, if done right, was a very helpful tool, and could keep one healthy and calm.

Mathew rose from where he had been meditating. That's enough of that, besides if I go on too long I might forget my fun idea. He laughed maniacally, in his own head of course. He walked slowly, and without making a sound, around the lake and towards the L.E.A building. Towards his class. ((ooc - I went over here. Clerical Arts))

Mackenzie brightened, latching onto the change of subject greedily and forcibly forgetting her emotional loss of control. She nodded. "I can come in. Hopefully there won't be too many classes." She paused and bowed slightly "Thank you." Straightening she continued, "So should I come in tomorrow afternoon?" She wanted to get this right. She wasn't sure if she'd been making a good impression on any of her teachers and this chance wasn't going to be passed up.

From the girl's reaction, it seemed to Alsiria that she was feeling a bit better. This brought another smile to her face, "Oh...alright."
Well then. The girl certainly seemed anxious as well, which caught Alsiria a bit off guard. Nonetheless, she was glad the student apparently wanted to learn more. She felt remorse in the fact that she had not done more with the students her first class, but there was nothing she could do about that now. They would have more time to do things next class; she was sure of that.
Alsiria stood, eyes staring off into the span of the lake, "Tomorrow afternoon then. I shall be waiting for you in my elemental magic classroom. Suits you, yes?"
She turned to the girl, and instinctively offered her hand to help the girl to her feet, forgetting for a moment that she was blind, and probably wouldn't see the hand, "Will that be alright for you, dear?"

((ooc - came from Clerical Arts)) Pell sat down by the lake again and opened, first, the human anatomy book. He began to flip through the many pages and look at the illustrations before going back to the first page and actually begining to read. His class schedule was in his pocket and he knew that his next class wouldn't be for a while. Perfect time to study.

((Jaycee has had a long day. Cutting off arms and all, he just came from this class)) As Pell neared the lake, Jaycee gradually slowed to a stop, his dark eyes focusing intently on the figures further down the shore. The irony of the sitatuation struck him, and a faint smile crept over his entire face. He had trailed after one of the other students simply because he didn't know where to go next, and he had found the very person he was looking for. God was being kind to him. Stepping up his pace and changing his course, Jaycee headed towards his fire professor and the little elf she was talking to. Once he neared them, his soft steps slowed, then ceased.. He didn't have much to say to the fire professor after her rather short class, so he would wait until she left. Folding his hands neatly behind him, he turned so that he could still see the two figures, but so it appeared he was looking out over the lake. Although he felt a bit foolish, he had commited himself to a course of action, and regretting things you had done was pointless. So rather than think about that, he occupied himself with the gentle sound of the water, and the rippled reflection of the afternoon sky.
