I have a question for anyone willing to answer..

How do you cut hunger cravings? not just specific 'i feel like chips' cravings, but full on 'i can eat a horse, or four' cravings... It just happens everyonce in a while and it upsets my routine. Any advice?

For me, it helps to get into the habit of eating less and better. Since I've been dieting, I've lost a lot of my taste for soda, and excessive amounts of fried and overly fattening foods. I can't eat more than one donut because afterwards I just kinda feel like vomiting. I can't drink a can of soda either.

It also helps to keeo myself busy so I think less about eating. Since school has started, I've gone from eating three full meals a day to a bowl of cereal for breakfast, a slim fast shake for lunch, and a normal sized dinner with maybe a cookie afterwards. I generally find it okay to give into temptation once and a while, provided you don't make a habit of it.

I usually try telling myself I'm not hungray as well.

i usually eat whatever i want....but in small portions. i also heard someone on like jay leno or conan o'brien saying they eat whatever they want (even bad stuff) by just putting a spoonful of it on their plate along with the rest of the stuff

eating something that tastes like it but is healtheir or eating only a little bit of it will help. Also if the cravings don't go away in normal time than eat. other wise it will get worse and you will eat more of it. Ex: About 20 min. after the craving starts (say chocolate craving) ou can have a few mini kisses. My mom keeps them in the house for that purpose as we have very little choclate in the house.

I eat and entire cucumber with some healthy dip and if i'm still hungry, maybe a banana. Also try some favorite excercises.

What I do is have a glass of ice cold water. If that doesn't take my mind off of hunger, I have some crunchy fresh fruit or veg along with it.

If you eat fruit or veg that is crunchy as a snack, it is more likely to satisfy your hunger cravings than non-crunchy foods. Eating for satisfaction rather than survival is more of a mental thing. If the food is crunchy and fresh, it wakes up your senses more and let's your brain know "Hey! I'm eating something! heart "

Crunchy fruit and veg is also good for people who are trying to quit a bad habbit like smoking, because of this. It provides a distraction to whatever you are craving. 3nodding

If you eat the appropriate amount of meals (5 to 6 small meals), then you really shouldn't have any cravings because your stomach will be working the whole time.

But for those of us that aren't eating constantly everyone else, I'd suggest eating crunchy veggies/fruits for the reasons that L u c i u s mentioned above.

My boss usually buys yogurts that have some little crunchy nuts you can sprinkle on top.

Eating low GI foods that release energy slowly helps cut hunger cravings. Try snacking on low fat food. Eating little and often can be better than large meals so blood sugar doesn't peak and then fall.

When I'm just completely starving and I can't have a meal, or it's not 'time,' I eat fruits that will fill me up quickly.

Fruits like cantaloupe, strawberries and bananas usually do the trick. I also couple them with some water, juice or soy milk. domokun

The crunchy fruits and vegetables thing sounds like a good idea. You also might want to try graham crackers, saltines, or pretzels, and then drink a glass of water to make it expand in your stomach.

Peanut butter is a good thing to eat that keeps you full for a while, also, just because it has a high fat content. But it's good fat, and pb also has a lot of protein, and can be found in low-sugar varieties.
