From Wikipedia Welcome to the N.H.K. (N・H・Kにようこそ!, NHK ni Yōkoso!?) is a light novel series by Tatsuhiko Takimoto, which since then has been adapted into a manga and an anime. In Japan, NHK usually stands for the broadcasting corporation Nippon Hōsō Kyōkai, but in this series, NHK stands for Nippon Hikikomori Kyokai (in the anime, Nihon, another word for Japan, is used instead of Nippon) — meaning "The Hikikomori Association of Japan", a meaning the main character has deluded himself into believing. While mainly dealing with hikikomori, the plot also explores many other Japanese subcultures — for example: otaku, lolicon, and internet suicide.
In North America, the manga has been licensed by Tokyopop, and will be released on October 10, 2006.
The story follows Tatsuhiro Satō, a university dropout entering his fourth year of unemployment. He leads a reclusive life as a hikikomori until he meets Misaki Nakahara, a mysterious girl who is determined to help Satō out of his reclusiveness.
So far episode 7 is out.

Loved the first episode, going to watch more eventually. I wanted to see the ED in full-seriousness, because it looked great, but oh well.

I watched up to episode 15-ish. I don't like it that much, since it kind of moves slowly to me.
...Good for the anime otaku. xD

Although it gets a little weird at the end, with Satou going all "It's the NHK's fault", but I seriously enjoyed watching this anime from the start. biggrin

Yes, the series is a wierd one, but it had me glued to my computer screen for the 12 straight hours it took to watch it all in it's full glory. While at some points it is very slow, at others it had my heart racing at some times, my sides splitting at others, and as I've said in other area's of this subforum, it had me crying near the end. If it's any assurance, it was suggested to me by the same person who suggested Haruhi Suzumiya.
