Okay, i was commisioned to make some hats. Not difficult at all but i was trying to use circular needles for the first time and they confused me. How do you decrease without giving yourself suddenly more needle? And how do you cast off? Any help will be good cause i've never actualy used them before now.

alright, girlie girl, you need to go get yourself some DOUBLE POINTED NEEDLES in your size, tell egga how many stitches, and she will whip up a little pattern for you wink

The hat for a girl with with 22inch head. So i think that was about 55 to 60 stitchs.
I'm taking it that circular needles are a no go with hats... sweatdrop

no, you start with cicular needles, then work up with dpn
tell me the size, type of yarn, and we'll work from there

Okay, size 9 needles and i'm using homespuns yarn. The regualar stuff.

okay, start with 80 stitches, work in ss stitch for 8", then use the dpns, set of five, and evenly devide them across, then on the next row as follows...

knit 5, knit 2 together "
knit 2 straight rows
knit 4, knit 2 together "
knit 2 straight rows
knit 3, knit 2 together "
kint 2 straight rows
knit 2, knit 2 together "
knit 2 straigther rows
knit 1, knit 2 together "
knit 2 straight rows
knit 2 together "

if that is confuzzling, egga will tell you how to do it on straight needles mrgreen
