llllThe duo is made up of Elena Katina (born October 4, 1984, to Sergey and Inessa) and Yulia (Julia) Volkova (born on February 20, 1985.) Yulia, also a mother (to Viktoria, born in 2004), is known to be more of a "bad-girl", in comparison to her Russian Orthodox companion, Lena. Both Elena and Yulia were in the children's ensemble Neposedi, before they were chosen by Ivan Shapovalov to be the members of his teenage group. Since this time, the girls have left Ivan, due to the stress he was putting on Yulia's voice with the music he wanted her to sing, and the amount of attention he payed to scandals, versus the music itself.
llllTo this date, the more well-known songs of t.A.T.u. are All The Things She Said (Ya Soshla S Uma) and Not Gonna Get Us (Nas Ne Dogonyat), but we all know that sometimes the best music is not necessarily the most popular.
