Well... I was watching the 3rd movie recently.. just randomly, and I thought.
"Why the hell are all these people trying to get Back at Naraku?"
Of course I know the Reasons and they are...
Inuyasha: Wants to be a Full-Demon, and get Back at Naraku for killing Kikyou?... I think.
Kagome: She broke the Jewel and now she has to get it back...
Sango: Get Revenge for naraku killling her family.
Miroku: Get the Curse off his hand.
And when you look at it like that.. Inuyasha is a conceited basturd, and Kagome has no propose but to clean the mess she made!
Now Sango and Miroku have WAY better Reasons to be Going after Naraku...
What do you guys think?

I never really thought of that. Now that I think about Sango and Miroku's are better then Inuyasha and Kagome's. I think we should all join together and write a letter asking for a show on Mir and San! =D ... ^^;; ... XD

Five Words Or Less I never really thought of that. Now that I think about Sango and Miroku's are better then Inuyasha and Kagome's. I think we should all join together and write a letter asking for a show on Mir and San! =D ... ^^;; ... XD

i wish that kagome and inuyasha would just step a side and let the real couple in the spot light. sango and miroku!!!! i also think that miroku and sango have a better reason for getting the jewel and beat naraku. 3nodding

confused I find it highly doubtable that Sunrise would make an anime just for just Sango and Miroku's story. As much as I'd love the idea, I'm sure they'd end up butching our beloved two with corny lines and exagerated emotion.
^ ^ I'd rather stick to the millions of Sango/Miroku doujinshi made in Japan.
Sorry, but as mcuh as Kags and Inu annoy me sometimes, I have to stand up for them. I'm sure we look at them like they look at us Sango/Miroku fans; that the two are 'just there'. And the purpose of collecting the Shikon no Tama as well as defeating Naraku, is that it enables them to depend on each other.
As Sango once said it, "The strength of our numbers is what gives us the courage ..." We musn't forget that the Shikon no Tama links them all together. Because of it's shattering, Kags and Inu have to get along, Shippo lost his father, Sango her village, and Miroku lost his chance to defeat Naraku in his weaker form. And with Naraku's rise to power over the jewel, they surely can't defeat him by themselves. With the six of them conbined, it should be an equal force to reckon with:
Naraku -- In posession of: Shikon no Tama
InuYasha: The Ability to use the Tetsusaiga against the evils of hell. He's not afraid to lash out at Naraku, barrier or not, and will never give up without a fight. He is the one who inspires eveyone to do their best in battle * Aramitama*
Shippo and Kirara: Bring confidence and courage to the team, and help to cheer up when things are bad. They also have the ability to fight for what they believe is right, and will defend their friends no matter what the caust *Nigimitama*
Miroku: Being a houshi, Miroku has emence spiritual powers. Along side that, he, as many others, accuired a large amount of wisdom from personal experience as well as reading scrolls. Without his knowledge, no one would even know of Naraku. And with this cunning mind, he has managed to swindel homes, temples, and not to mention Sango's heart *Kushimitama*
Sango: We should all know by now that there's one thing that Sango's never lacking, love. Even when faced with her brother's murder victims, she still can't find it in her gut to not forgive him. She's rather die than to see the ones she loves suffer. As most people, exampled by Kagome, get overly angered if their love is two-timing them. But not Sango, she holds hope that Miroku will change his ways, and always forgives his actions. This factor brings in the feeling of trust and faith within the group *Sakimitama*
So now let's look at the situation again. Naraku has the Shikon no Tama. But when combined, the Inu-tachi become their own living jewel as well. And what part does Kagome play in this? She's the upper hand. She has the powers of a pristress, and if trained correctly can equal up to even Midoriko. If you really look at it closely, the Inu-tachi has more power than Naraku.
So all in all, there is a 100% chance that Naraku will be concerd and the Shikon no Tama reverted to it's original state. And now that that's over, Sango and Miroku no longer need to take place in the group. So Kagome, InuYasha, and Shippo by that time, should have the whole jewel, except for Kohaku's, that is. Defeated Naraku - Got the jewel; two halfs equal a whole.

I understand the concept of what your saying.. [above post], What your saying is although they have their reasons... Everyone is needed to help defeat Naraku.
I Have Realized this before, but what I am pointing out in this Forum is that, Although everyone is a big help in the series... Why are they going to this kind of trouble to get to point A.. to point B?
And thats what I am trying to get through is their TRUE reasons to get back at Naraku, NOT how they are all needed to defeat him or Who really needs the jewel.

I guess the point Rumiko slowly tries to establish throughout the series is that they want to defeat Naraku, not only for what he's done personally to them, but because of all the pain he's causing to so many people they've met, and they want to stop it.
Now, I agree that everyone else has a more personal reason to kill Naraku than Kagome; however, InuYasha's reason is pretty legit as well; I mean, his love got (temporarily) killed, he got pinned to a tree for 50 years and when he woke up his life was completely changed; he would never be able to have the same relationship with his love again.
(Of course, that's supposed to be resolved or whatever by Kagome healing him, but that's beside the point; I think its safe to say InuYasha has enough reason to get pissed off enough at Naraku to want to kill him.)
However, the point supposed to be made is that Kagome wants to kill Naraku because he hurt her friends and other people; slowly, the Inu-tachi and everyone else start to focus not only on the pain within themselves but within others, and that's how they can find the determination and continue to try to vanquish Naraku.
Personally, I think revenge by itself as a reason is a pretty cheap thing. You get so obsessed with your anger, running only on steam and hurt pride after a while and feeding on it solely, losing your reason in madness and letting it devour you completely; you become someone different with different objectives that you originally intended; a demon (metaphorically). I think this whole 'kill Naraku for other people' is supposed to symbolize humanity, which brings about all the 'demons and humans joining hands together to destroy evil' stuff.
