most awesome display of violence i have seen in a non-new video game. also, probably the most impossible to beat video game ever. it's too hard, and its that good. does anyone else remember the toads?

yea i played it on the arcades. and i remember it was a rip off of the ninja turtles by konami. it was ok. wasnt that great

dude, as far as i know, it was the only "gory" side-scrolling arcade game out there... i love it when you deliver the drill to the face.

There's a lot of variety and challenge.. I've played Goldeneye, Banjo, Conker, Donkey Kong and all that.. but Battletoads and Starfox are always the first games that spring to mind when I think of Rare..

I loved Battletoads on the gameboy, though never got into the NES game which everyone else seems to love. Then again, I was the same with Probotector (aka Contra), somehow it just seemed cleaner and cooler on a mono handheld with tinny (yet awesome) music, than with big bright colours all over it and beepier sounds.
Perhaps I'm just strange.

ya , battletoads is pretty awesome...
Battletoads and the double-dragons game was pretty good, so was the mega-drive game..
damn hard to beat though...
