1. Intro: La modalidad lingüística andaluza (<--esa es la denominación correcta o.o)
AH! I'M GOING TO ENLIGHTEN YOU! *hugs textbook* umm yeah TRANSLATED QUOTATION:
The languages spoken in Spain are Castilian, Basque, Catalan, Valenciano and Gallego. The dialects coming from Castilian are Andaluz, Extremeño, Murcian, and Canary, as well as the different variations found in America.
Then it says:
Many of the features of the Spanish of America coincide with the ones of the modalidad lingüística andaluza: seseo, yeísmo, loss of the final -s., etc. This is because of the first period of the conquest, when more than 60% of the ones who arrived to América were Andalusian.

Understandability (phear the word!) with other dialects/"proper" castilian: A little difficult. I mean it. <___<

2. Characteristics
Seseo: Seseo consists on pronouncing the consonants c and z like s; so cereza (cherry) would be pronounced like seresa. Seseo is also in the Spanish of America.
Ceceo: Opposite of ceceo, makes s like z; like happens in zandía (sandía, watermelon)
Yeísmo: Phenomena that equals ll and y (though, to me, the difference is minimal..but umm I'm Andalusian xD) though in some zones they are distinguised. Yeísmo is also present in big part of the Peninsula, the Canary Islands and many zones of America.
Loss of the d between vowels, like in olvidao (olvidado, forgotten) or perdío (perdido, lost), or also in the phrase Aonde vá?, A dónde vas?
Loss of the r between vowels, as in the very common phrase te khié í ya! which in proper Castilian would be Te quieres ir ya!
In Occidental Andalucía, sustitution of "vosotros" for "ustedes", but keeping the informal feeling.
In some zones, also, changes of the acentuation of the words, as in váyamos for vayamos (let's go [us])
Some different words, of Arabic roots.
Pronouncing the ch sound like sh as in the English "shower" (yay an English sound! xD)
Pronouncing the j and g (when not followed by u ;3) sounds like the h sound as in the English "house" (YAY! XD)
Switching the l sound for an r sound (YAY JAPANESE? XDD) as in arto (alto, tall) or the definite article, er (el)
Before n and l, the r can be lost or turned into an aspiration: Cahn-ne (Carne, meat)
An s before consonant often becomes an aspiration as well.

This is mainly seseo/ceceo-wise. I'll scan the map-thing in my textbook later and put it here for all of j00 to see. n3n

4. A little History&some facts
At the beginning of the XXth Century, Andalusian was -this- close to becoming a written language. A grammar of the Andalusian language was presented with the new "Estatuto de autonomía" of the community of Andalucía, but the Spanish Civil War started and it didn't get approved. o3o
I'll be adding mroe as I learn/remember more. xD

Curso D'Andalú This video is TEH FUNNEH. It's like, an advertisement for an imaginary Andalusian course. The guy speaks strong Andaluz and they say a lot of expressions&vocabulary in this. I hope it's not too difficult to follow. n__n; x3
