I would use a crowbar, its lightweight, easy to control, sharp ends to punture skulls, and who knows when you might need to open a locked door.

I would go with a crowbar too but I guess out of those choices I'd go with the sword, it seems most effective.

In any curcumstance, a japanese katana is my weapon of choice. it's lightwhight, it's blade is long enough to keep them at a distance, and it's able to cut into the skull or decapotate.

Use the SWORD it doesn't reload and zombies are slow, use it to your advantage, plus firearms can jam and if you use a shotgun a pump is included, a sword is a quick swing.

Do ANY of you guys know how tough the neck is? You need to be able yo cut 8 layers of carpet with bamboo in the center just to cut off a head.
I'd go with the Shot gun. All I would want to do is get the hell OUT of there. Shotgun'd knok them all over, I run on their faces, end of story.

If you read studiously you'll recall that Brooks mentions the Shaolin Spade as an excellent decapitator of Zombies, so in a perfect world, you'd have one avalible. Though realistically, probably the best thing I would have would be a katana, or at the very least, if you're quite strong, a wooden training katana or something. You can get 'em at the Sakura Con if you live in Seattle like me or you're willing to travel in the Spring.

The best thing I have right now is a metal baseball bat but a crowbar would be ideal. As for guns, a simple .22 but I'd have to be sure I can aim for the head, those things have no stopping power. xd

.22LR Rifle you can carry alot of ammo and the bullet will enter the skull and ricochet inside, tearing the brain to shreds. i dont like swords or machetes much they can get stuck and you'll be there with your foot on a zombies head trying to "pull the sword from the stone" while a mob of zombies overtake you. so if you need a mele weapon i recomend something blunt. (mabey a cricket bat?)

Ruger PAC9 carbine and a hatchet or crowbar for good measure. The PAC9 is a civilian 9mm carbine, similar to the PAC4 which is a .40 magnum carbine. That and there are some pistols that share ammo with these rifles. It's all about availibity of weapons.

Ok. The shoulin spade thing... I don't think so. Those things sound like the best of both worlds, but they aren't. Sorry to shatter your faith, but this is one where the book was wrong. For those of us who have actually used one of those things, it's like picking up a streetlamp and swinging it around, then trying to get someone's neck. They're heavy, unwealdly, overly large, and because they're bladed on both ends, you're just as likely to cut yourself. Besides, you need a lot of skill to even point one in the right direction. They make a sword decapitation look like slicing butter with a cleaver. DON'T EVEN TRY!
